My 16th level warlock chose the Eldritch Adept feat and Shroud of Shadows was not listed in the available choices. The only pre-req for it is being 15th level or higher.
The feat cannot add any invocations that have prerequisites. This is a limitation of the system.
It would be recommended to choose a different invocation for the feat that doesn't have prereqs.
A day might come when they fix this but I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

It does work for invocations that have Eldritch Blast as the prerequisite, you can take those with the feat if you have Warlock levels, but that's it so far. And yeah, best for the time being to just move one of your other Warlock invocations to the feat so you can take the prereq'd one from the class.

I am noticing from the screenshot that there are no invocations on that list which do the same as Shroud of Shadows, an invocation which allows you to cast a spell without a spell slot. Could this possibly be a restriction?

Armor of Shadows, Beast Speech, and Eldritch Sight are all available from that feat. Those all allow the PC to cast a specific spell without a spell slot (mage armor, speak with animals, and detect magic respectively). The ones that are not available are the ones that have a prerequisite of a certain level in Warlock, or one of the Pact Boons.

That the only way to meet any of the prerequisites is to be a Warlock. For those playing Warlocks, it really isn’t difficult to rearrange one’s Invocations so that the prerequisites are met through the class feature and the ones without a prerequisite as granted by the feat. I mean, the feat only grants the one invocation.

Sorry should have clarified that that is what I meant. All the ones that don't have a level requirement are indeed on the list just not the ones that do have a requirement.
