Actually, it did not. I owned no part of the book. It said it was not eligible. I assume it is because it is listed as a bundle.
I got around this by purchasing 3 of the sourcebooks within by using the code. Then I only had to spend another $4 to purchase the rest. It came out to about the same price as if I had used the code.
Edit: The method I used is definitely not ideal and the code not working was probably not intentional on D&D Beyond part I hope.
Oh, well that is very strange. Someone on staff will need to look into this I suppose as Tales from the Yawning Portal is just one book with multiple adventures inside. I understand the desire to bundle it from the software perspective but the code should apply to the book itself.
Just for testing, I have tried to reuse it (add to cart, click on cart and enter the coupon code then apply) and I get... Code has already been claimed so you can use this coupon only ONCE. So load fully your cart before using it.
Just in case everyone missed it. When you buy the legendary nundle, you get 15% ONGOING discount on any future purchase as stated in the description text:
Purchasing the Legendary Bundle also secures a 15% discount off standard pricing for all future digital content product purchases. You will automatically receive this discount for each new release.
And I’m sure the legendary bundle is really well discounted when you consider there are 23 source books included in it. Once I have more consistent income again, I will be purchasing the Legendary Bundle.
Tophloph You're ideas are right in everything you said. However he didn't say that, and if you're new to the show, which many are since it's a new campaign, a better way to say it would be:
"There is a new discount code, it is said at the beginning of episode 10, currently only available on twitch, but will be available soon on youtube, keep your eyes peeled!"
If your goal is to help people when they are confused, you need to be able to provide context and direction. Specially when the situation was already FILLED with confusion and miss communications.
As for advertising, the goal is to get people to use your product. Which either way, they will. DND beyond's twitter blasted the code on twitter at the same time as the airing. So it was public in that regard. So it wasn't even a video exclusive in their own eyes. So most of what your fighting for doesn't make sense.
If you are referring to this tweet, then that is a follow up to the tweet before where they said they were working on fixing it as it wasn't calculating. Also, the tweet was at 8:34, not the same time they announced it in the video. They didn't blast it because it was being advertised. They were saying "this code is all fixed and ready to go!". They didn't blast the "beginnings" coupon code so I will still hold to my original ideas.
Just to be clear, the question was asked multiple days after the airing, the code was blasted on twitter about 1.5 hours after it aired live. It was a public code that did not require watching the show by the time the question was asked here. Making the show not at all involved in one's ability to get the code when the OP asked the question.

What's the code for the discount on the Legendary Bundle? Not knowing where to look for these codes is kind of frustrating with how quickly the expire :/
The discount codes are designed to bring in new customers from specific groups - in this case, Critical Role viewers. Right now, you may find their Twitter account interesting....
You may find the codes on the internet with a Google search, but it shouldn't be a surprise that Critical Role would like you to watch their show to get the code.
With regards how quickly they expire - a little over a month (as far as I can tell) seems a reasonable amount of time.
Eventually found it, the initiative seems somewhat weird in just that I don't want to jump into the middle of the campaign, and the campaign is way too long to watch all the way up to current. Had to dig a little from twitter to figure it out but after that it made sense. Edit: I think it would be really cool to have new codes be the little popup comment-y things at the end of the first episode of the campaign!
You don´t have to watch critical Role to get the code. It is posted on the 826LA gofoundme me side posted for breaking the 10K dollers. Just scroll down the code is written in the goals.

The coupon "Invisiblewand" still works. It applies to rules and adventures, not to to the subscriptions.
How long will "InvisibleWand" be an active code?
How can I apply the code if I already made the purchase?
Feats - Hermit Crab & Superhero Landing
Item - Alertness & Skeleton Key
Contact support for a refund? I don't believe there is a way to retroactively apply a code after you have already been charged.

InvisibleWand has now expired, for anyone who is wondering... although DDB25 still works.
Ass with a past. I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to play D&D and get killed.
Thank you so much! It still works! DDB25
What does "DDB25" do?
DDB25 is a code from a promotion on social media, granting 25% off digital book purchases on D&D Beyond.
There's another code for a discount on the Legendary Bundle.

Ok Thanks! I ended up picking up a few books with the code, it's a pretty good deal!

It has expired.
