My Avernus party has a Chronurgy wizard in it and as part of his backstory, I created a homebrew magic item similar to existing rare spell books, but purely dedicated to Dunamancy and is supposed to give him access to all the Dunamancy spells listed in EGtW.
The problem is that the player is unable to access any of the graviturgy spells with or without the book. Is this intentional, or a bug in the character sheet program?
The Chronurgy and Graviturgy spells are set to be available to that subclass only, they're not on the wizard spell list, and they're not on each others' spell list unless the book specifically says it's available for both. The solution is to homebrew copies of the spells that are available for wizards to learn.
Edit: Ok, I checked that they aren't a part of the wizard spell list, so how do I make it so that my wizard can use these spells without him having to make a separate character sheet?
You'll need to make a homebrew to give the wizard an Additional Spell List. Currently, the only 2 homebrew types that can do so are Subclass (in a feature/option) or Background. Given that this is from their backstory, a Background would make the most sense, so create a homebrew Background using their background as a template, and to it add an Additional Spell List with the graviturgy-only spells.
The thing is, only the Chronurgy is actually a part of their backstory. Me giving them this book that contains both parts of dunamancy is me trying to progress his character is some way.
In the backstory he gave me, he found a book that was about time magic. He taught himself the same thing using only that book and began to refer to the unknown author of it as his Master. Then, he and the party killed an archmage in Avernus who was in possession of this book (written by Essek Thelyss because I am a huge Critical Role Stan) and he is realizing that his Master was a rank amateur and there is so much more for him to learn.
Could I simply homebrew the spells so that he can access them, since I have homebrew content enabled for the campaign?

I'm not sure I follow...

Sure, you could make homebrew copies of the spells (unpublished) and have them added to the Wizard class spell list.

That would affect every Wizard in every DDB campaign you are in. I explain a much cleaner way to accomplish what you want in this thread:
