Currently when adding a spell to Additional Specific Spells, an Additional Spell List, or a Spell entry (possibly others) the homebrew editor includes replaced (newer version released) and deleted versions of spells, which can massively clutter up the interface.
For example, I have a homebrewed 1st-level spell for raising a single undead called Animate Corpse (to help enable early level necromancers before the official raise dead spells become available), however it's gone through a few revisions (the linked one is the 4th so far).
If I type "Animate" into a spell name box anywhere in Homebrew, then in addition to the spells I expect, I also get four versions of Animate Corpse with no way to tell them apart, plus a "COPY_of_Animate Dead" that I deleted.
I'd like to ask that replaced and deleted versions of homebrew be hidden from these listings, as it makes them harder to work with.
There is one other case which is a little trickier, namely current (published) homebrew, and "work in progress" (new version, not yet published) homebrew of the same spell; either of these could be what the user wants, so both should be shown. Perhaps you could append the version number (if there is one)?
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
There is a nifty trick with this when you publish it as a new version go back and remove the older versions from your collection by clicking the toggle at the bottom of the detail page only keep the most recent. The one you deleted is def a bug and you should raise a ticket. I had an issue awhile back with an encounter that refused to delete no matter how hard I tried was a nightmare but the helpdesk was able to remove it for me.
If you do this should at least solve the multiple version issue if you check the details page you should see version numbers in the top right IIRC assuming you had been updating them correctly

This has been a problem for years and part of why I recommend that people not publish until after thorough playtesting and editing. General FAQ #s 8 & 8-A: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).

That solution works to remove duplicates from characters, but it won’t remove them from the homebrewer. Please see the General Homebrew FAQ #8-A for more information: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).
