Creation
Choose a corpse of a Medium or Small humanoid within range. Your spell imbues the target with a twisted form of life, raising it as an undead creature. The target becomes a zombie (the DM has the creature's game statistics).
On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to command your servant if it is within 60 feet of you. You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as to guard an area. If you issue no commands, your servant only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete.
When the spell ends, your servant collapses to the ground, lifeless once more.

This spell is intended to give access to raising the dead from an earlier level, suitable for playing as a necromancer.
To keep it balanced it can only raise a single zombie for 24 hours at a time, and requires concentration. Since you can issue commands you can get similar utility as for an unseen servant (except for the unseen part of course), albeit more resource intensive (concentration, can't be cast as a ritual).
It should make it easier to play a necromancer before you can take the 3rd-level animate dead.
Update: I had to update this to remove the Oathbreaker Paladin as the spell was being forced onto oathbreaker characters, rather than simply being available as an extra option. I really need to remember to test every class/sub-class I add as I never seem to remember which ones do this!
Think I might use this and put my own flair on it. The spell is quite good, but it feels like it's missing something in comparison to the other spells that create temporary/permanent undead.
Feel free to update me on what you come up with! I just wanted to keep it as simple as possible, this is really just intended as a stop gap spell until you can swap it for animate dead. Could be interesting if you can come up with a way to make it still relevant at higher levels though!
