I have a subclass which cannot be approved. The message is:
This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
I'm not quite sure what this means. It is a druid subclass and follows the template of class features at the same levels as the official subclasses. What am I missing?
Having this same issue. I've clicked on what I'm assuming is everything. I've copied and pasted everything into a word document, retyped everything and copied back into appropriate spaces, and it still won't publish. Why is there no clarification? It'd be nice if what ever that 'issue' is, that issue would be highlighted or have a * next to it so you could fix it instead of this passive aggressive "oh, sorry, you can't do that" crap.
The changlog mentions the new criteria, but it's super vague and not helpful, it'd be nice if they explained why the stuff wasn't going through, here is the quote from the changelog:
First off, your private homebrew is always accessible to you and any users in any campaigns you belong to. You DO NOT have to share it with the community for your campaign users to have access.
There are now a set of automated checks in place that will prevent you from sharing your homebrew with the community if it fails these checks. They are:
A similarity check to WotC licensed 5e content.
The text in the homebrew must be in English
There can be no embedded images, external links, or iframes in any descriptive text.
There is some required data validation checks for class features and racial traits.
Again, your private homebrew is allowed to be anything you want. The checks above are to prevent homebrew being shared with the community that does not meet the stated criteria.
If your homebrew does not meet any of the criteria above, you will see a message at the top of the page and will not have access to the "Share with Community" link.
It's most likely to do with modifiers in those class features at the appropriate level - if you create a feature but there is no modifiers or options tied to that feature, the system looks at it and says it's incomplete (because when someone adds that subclass to their character it won't actually add anything to the sheet). We used to see a lot of people submit subclasses (and races) with just the description text but ZERO features/modifiers added - without these it does not work in the builder, hence the submission restrictions were put in place.
As an example - take the Wizard subclasses - the first "feature" they get is upon selecting the subclass at level 2. If you look at the Evocation wizard subclass, they get Sculpt Spells and Evocation Savant. Within these features, you would need to make sure that they are set to the correct levels (in line with the base class) and add any modifiers/actions/options to the feature as needed.
Best way is to test on your own characters to make sure it applies and works correctly - especially with abilities that change dice rolls or stats.
Please be aware of the design restrictions placed on features for subclasses. This thread contains information on how to check your subclass adheres to the D&D 5th edition design principles for subclasses and can be published.
This really isn't helpful - I've gone through and rechecked all items in my subclass, made sure all items are removed that do not need to be there and changed required levels to fit any class feature levels that the items connect to.
The notification that i get "This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels." isn't helpful - is there no way that it could tell me exactly what feature, item, option, restriction, etc is SPECIFICALLY causing the issue instead of me having to go through and try to process of elimination items out due to a vague description.

We would recommend first ensuring that after you make any changes to the features of your subclass, that you save from main edit page of the subclass. This is the only save that tells the auto-moderator to check your homebrew for validity. You can find this advice also included in the link that Stormknight posted above you.
If that does not help, please create a thread including a link to your unpublished homebrew so that myself or another moderator can take a look and try to assist you.
As this thread has not been active since 2018 however, I will be locking it, as much has changed since then. Please create a new thread with a link to your affected homebrew if this information hasn't helped resolve the issue.
Thank you!

I have a subclass which cannot be approved. The message is:
I've been having the same problem
I am equally confused, I would love if someone would clarify the problem.
Some how I got it to work
I don't know how
Bumping to hopefully find someone that figured this out?

Well it seems this is the relevant criteria:
But I don't know what to change to fix that.
Exactly it isn't very clear what we have to do to meet the criteria!

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
The "can cast spells" field seems to cause issues sometimes here - if you have left it blank, try setting it to "no"

This worked for me so it may be the key factor!
