I just created a level 1 Wizard with a Constitution score of 16 (+3 modifier). The compendium states: "Hit Points at 1st Level: 6 + your Constitution modifier", but my character sheet sheet shows that I have 15 hit points at max instead of 9.
Am I missing something in the rules that would bump me up another 6 hit points at first level, or is it a possible bug in the calculation?
There is a known bug when using manual hit points and 1st level giving all classes 12+mod rather than the correct hit dice. Can either use Fixed (average) or manually change. On the staff's radar!
Just made a new fighter with 14 constitution, it says my max hit points is 2. What?
Did you select "Fixed" or "Manual" in the first tab of the builder?
If you selected "Manual", it won't give you anything other than your CON modifier unless you manually input the amount of HP rolled (even though at first level it should still give you the full hit dice... might be a bug still)
I did pick manual, I thought that would only apply to HP after first level since starting HP isn't rolled for. I was able to override my HP so it wasn't a problem I was just confused what was causing it, thanks.
I am trying to use the Manual point entry for hit points at higher levels. It seems that it doesn't "remember" my entries at level 1, just asks for my roll and adds my CON modifier ONCE. For all the levels. This problem seems to be in effect regardless of what class is taken upon leveling up (i.e. at Player level 2 - Paladin/2, or Paladin/1 + Bard/1 both have the same issue). I can not figure out how the calculator is supposed to automatically track things, or how I am supposed to enter information for it to stay saved. What am I doing wrong??
Thanks! After playing around it seems that is the case. I found that for higher levels the CON modifier is added cumulatively, and the "Rolled HP" menu is for inputting the sum of ALL hit die rolls made per level-up. So, it kind of keeps track of it if you just keep adding your roll upon level-up to the existing "Rolled HP" entry, since the CON modifier is updated automatically.
My fixed HP (level 11 fighter human) is 104. My actual HP is 114 I add an HP modifier of +10 to make the difference, save, return to character sheet, max HP is 104 Okay, lets try overriding the max hp to 114, save, return to character sheet, max HP is 104 Whatever I try, the max HP resets to the fixed value
Same issue from 2017 (I think). New character (level 1) given 12 + CON modifier instead of 8 + CON modifier. Fixed it manually, but I thought you might want to know this 3-year-old bug is still around.
This issue seems to have resurfaced as its happening with my new characters too
Change the hit point type ( from manual to fixed or vice versa), then change it back again. That should fix it. It has to do with choosing hit point type before choosing class.

Awesome! Thanks!

It's most likely that you've manually set your hitpoints for 1st level to zero using override.
Either change the hit point method you're using to fixed, or set the number of hit points for 1st level to the correct amount.

I believe this is how it's designed. The "manual" field is supposed to represent all of your rolls across all levels summed together.

Exactly. That's how I've been doing it anyway. Just have to keep track of individual rolls for each level outside of the app.
is there a way to remove the max hp override? i cant seem to take it off every time i set it to 0 it leaves my hp at max 1?
Just delete the number.

I created a lvl 20 Air Genasi Rogue and Maxed his MHP up, but it’s at 262. Is there any way to up this mhp? Overriding hp?
I'm currently having an issue with this
My fixed HP (level 11 fighter human) is 104. My actual HP is 114
I add an HP modifier of +10 to make the difference, save, return to character sheet, max HP is 104
