I have a level 7 rogue with 18 Sex and 10 Str who received a Sun Blade (well, Sunsword in Curse of Strahd).
By my math, the Sun Blade (which gains the Finesse property when the blade is active) should have a +9 to hit (+4 Dex, +3 proficiency, +2 from the item's properties). However, I'm getting a +5 to hit--it appears the site is using my STR score. Same applies to damage, which I count as 1d8+6 (+4 Dex and +2 from the item), but it shows as 1d8+2.
This one's tricky because it's conditional on the blade being active...but realistically the hilt alone is not the weapon, so I think it should reflect stats when the item exists..
Yeah I had to customize my sunsword to try and get around this issue. I wish it would include the +2, update the damage to Radiant, and use the Dex modifier correctly.
I also noticed that it didn't properly list the damage type as radiant. It seems to just be treating it as a normal longsword with extra notes for both the default sun blade and the added sunsword stat block in D&D beyond. In addition, the sunsword stat block doesn't include sun blade statistics, which would be useful for a quick lookup of things such as the extra d8 of radiant to undead.
I was going to post this as well. I tried to fix it by creating a custom version but found that there was no way to apply the finesse property to a weapon. The same problem exists for the Moonblade where it being finesse is one of the possible features of it, but even a custom version you can't create it.
According to BadEye in this thread, this has been resolved (as of Oct 5, 2017). The only unresolved issue at this point may be the short sword proficiency also allowing sunsword proficiency.

I wonder if this means being able to give the moonblade the finesse property? I can't try it right now to see.

I am having a similar issue with Dawnbringer on my Monk

This is still an issue. The Sun Blade magic item is missing the finesse property, and is listed as dealing slashing damage instead of radiant damage.
Yep, so to summarize the Sun Sword needs to have:
Allows you to use either your DEX or STR modifier
Allows sneak attack for Rogues
Instead of Slashing Damage
Magic Weapon

Sun blade, Sunsword, and moonblade.
