I have created a Lvl 4 Elven paladin and thought the double bladed scimitar sounded very cool.

I've also purchased the Revenant Blade feat from the eberron book, but when i apply the feat to my character the weapon is not switching to Dex calculations (although the AC bonus does get applied).   I've tried removing the weapon and re-adding it, but nothing seems to work.

Additionally there is no mention on the character sheet of any bonus attack when you equip this weapon.

I've also tried creating a homebrew item based on the weapon and just switching it to DEX but it doesn't appear as an option to base an item on.

The feat should say on it that it requires that you remove the revanent blade and swap it out with Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar to gain the benefit.

Right, so having bought the feat, i then need to go and buy a specific item to replace the original item that the purchased feat is supposed to upgrade?

Failing that, can anyone advise how i create a homebrew item based on the original Double-Bladed scimitar so i can then amend it as required to match the feat?

  • Base Weapon: Double-Bladed Scimitar
  • Modifiers:
    • Type: Bonus, Subtype: Armor Class, Fixed Value: 1
    • Type: Weapon Property, Subtype: Finesse

Or alternately, you can use custom actions (i would actually suggest this method, as the item method doesn't give you the bonus action attack)

• For the AC Bonus
  • From your sheet, click on the AC shield and click "Customize" in the popout panel
  • Under Additional Misc Bonus, enter 1 in the box with the source note "Revenant Blade"
• For the weapon
  • From your sheet, in the Action tab, click Manage Custom
  • Select "Weapon" in the popout
  • Click on the "Custom Action 1" to open the editor for it
    • Range: Melee
    • Stat: Dex
    • Dice Count: 2
    • Die Type: 4
    • Damage Type: Slashing
    • Activation Type: Action
    • Proficient: Checked
    • Display As Attack: Checked
    • Name: Double-Bladed Scimitar, Main
    • Description: Martial, Special, Two-Handed, Finesse
  • Repeat clicking Manage Custom and choose Weapon again for the bonus action attack
    • Range: Melee
    • Stat: Dex
    • Dice Count: 1
    • Die Type: 4
    • Damage Type: Slashing
    • Activation Type: Bonus Action
    • Proficient: Checked
    • Display As Attack: Checked
    • Name: Double-Bladed Scimitar, Bonus
    • Description: Martial, Special, Two-Handed, Finesse

you can just add the finesse property to a normal double bladed scimitar. it really isn't that hard once you figuered out how it all works
