I've got the PHB and Xanathar's on my account, none of my players do. As my characters have hit level 4, some of them are looking into Feats. My Half-Elf Sorcerer wants to take Everybody's Friend, but when I go into his character sheet to amend it I can't select any of the feats on their drop-down menu.
As I understood the campaign system, I as the DM have the ability to amend character sheets which are tagged in my campaign. Does anyone know how I'm able to add the feat in for my player?
I think you have to have a certain level of access, plus you have to have information sharing turned on.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
owning those sources on D&D Beyond means that you can use their content on your characters.
When you are the DM of a campaign, you gain the ability to edit the characters in that campaign, but they don't belong to your account, so the options from your purchased content aren't unlocked for those characters.
The intended way to resolve this is for someone in the campaign to purchase a Master Tier subscription and use that to enable content sharing for the campaign - this will allow all characters in the campaign to utilize content owned by other members of the campaign.
You may also homebrew feats, which will automatically be shared with other members of the campaign and can be selected on any character that has preferences set to allow homebrew content.
Huh, I missed that it didn't make it into Xanathar's. Thanks for pointing that out! I'm assuming content sharing comes from the Master subscription? If so, I don't have that.

Yes, content sharing is the main benefit of the Master Tier subscription (in addition to the benefits of the Hero Tier): https://www.dndbeyond.com/subscribe

Does the campaign have content sharing turned on?
Also "everybody's friend" is not a feat in an official sourcebook.

Everybody's Friend is the name of a half-elf feat from UA: Feats for Races that wasn't published in Xanathar's like most of the others.

Thanks for the clarifications, that's really helpful

The question for me is, if the DM edits a character the character is automatically updated for the player ?
The player would probably have to refresh the their page to see that changes.
