I've encountered a problem where one of my players' characters is listed as archived and they say they can't find the character in their list. I didn't know DNDB had a character archive feature, so I have no idea where to look for unarchiving the character. Any help in this will be greatly appreciated.
Hello Skellitor301! Did your player have a Hero or Master tier subscription that has lapsed or ended? When that happens the user is prompted to select 6 of their characters, as non-subscription users can have up to 6 characters.
I've just discovered I have this issue too! I have a character I've been making for an upcoming campaign that's suddenly got (archived) on her sheet and I have no clue why it's there or how to un-archive it.

I've found a fix which may help others! If you have (archived) next to your character name/class/level on the character sheet, remove your class and re-add it.
Are you having trouble accessing the character, or just troubled that "archived" appears in the name?
In your case, the name "archived" is there because Grimish is an orc, and Wizards of the Coast just changed some of the mechanics of orc player races. Because there were already people here who had orc characters, at least some of whom want to continue to use the previous mechanics instead of updating to the changes made by the errata, DDB treated those earlier races like UA content, and archived them yesterday. Any character that was using those races will still work, but their race will now say orc (archived) or kobold (archived).
If you want to "upgrade" to the new rules for orc, you can change the race, but note: you cannot change back to the old (archived) orc mechanics if you change the race of your character.
Somehow I doubt that the OP and other March posters were seeing archived orcs and kobolds, given that they weren't archived until this week. ;-). Although they may have been dealing with other archived character options.

Pretty sure they didn't as money is tight for them, and as far as I'm aware it was her only character.

Could you please have her provide a link to the affected character for myself or another moderator to take a look?
I'm having the same problem, I tried removing the class and applying it but that didn't work.

Hi all,
none of your characters are archived - you just have either the old (pre-errata) Orc or Kobold race for your character.
This won't prevent you from using the character in any way, but you may wish to switch your character race to the updated version of Kobold or Orc.
