Why have no mods hit this? It seems like a basic functionality question.
If you mean the question asked later in the thread about non-magical homebrew items, the mods have answered it in other threads. It's possible that mundane homebrew may be part of the homebrew revamp that's planned in the "longer term." For the time being, options are using the magic item homebrew feature to create mundane items or using the custom item and/or custom attack options on the character sheet.
If you mean the OP about adding homebrew, this is already possible.
If you turn on homebrew on the home page of the character sheet, you can then add items you, your DM, or other players in your campaign have created. (You have to all be a part of a campaign here to share between members of the campaign). In order to add published homebrew to your collection to use, you must have either a Hero or Master Tier subscription. (In theory, published homebrew can be shared in campaigns, but that feature had a bug that kept it from working; I don’t know if the bug has been fixed as I’m not directly affected.)

I believe it has been addressed, as I’ve been able to share created magic items/spells/etc with my campaigns. That is really cool. I’d just like to be able to make a karambit (a concave bladed dagger meant for slashing, with a finger loop - primarily used in a reverse grip), but if I start with a dagger as the base, I can’t change the piercing damage to slashing, and if I start with a sickle, I can’t add the finesse property...it’s just annoying. So I go old school and write it down...and lament my imposed limitations...alas.

Yeah, I keep hoping they will address that eventually. For now you can set it up as a custom attack. Has to be done manually for each character, though.
Couldn't you just create a custom magic item with no magical properties? I know it would be listed as a magic item but you would know it's not. Not as elegant a solution but I believe it would work.
This, I think, is what ArwensDaughter was referring to when she said, "For the time being, options are using the magic item homebrew feature to create mundane items.."

If you referring to Imaginelane’s comments, the problem is that the homebrew magic item editor doesn’t allow much modification to weapon properties.
I was referring to the topic of mundane item creation in general, but I can see the difficulty in crating an item (weapon) like Imaginelane describes. Really though, I think you can use modifiers for that. I'm new to homebrew creation on DDB but it looks like you can use "Replace Damage Type - Slashing" modifier to change the damage type. Am I getting that wrong?
Also I believe you can also add the finesse property to an item using a modifier. I tried it with a Blunderbus and it seemed to work. Again, I'm new to this so if I am not understanding please forgive my ignorance. I would love to learn more about how this process works.
I'm actually likng the karambit for my rogue. I created it only to test but I think I'll keep it. Thanks to Imaginelane for the idea.
I removed the thrown property and used the generic description text from standard weapons. I would share it but I can't becasue the "Item has text that includes Non-english Language." I presume they are referrig to the name. Silly as lot's of things in D&D are non-English.

The ability to replace damage type is relatively new, and I keep forgetting it is there. It used to be that modifier only offered the "radiant" option.
Being able to add/ignore weapon properties like finesse is also new since I last looked at homebrew magic weapons, which granted, has been a while. I didn't realize that's been improved, but I'm glad it has.
It's still not possible--as far as I can tell--to change damage dice or change the attack modifier to something other than Strength or Dex. (e.g. to mimic a quarterstaff on which Shillelagh has been cast; although in that particular case, the character sheet lists it as a separate attack)
I see, being new to this I didn't realize there had previously been issues. Makes sense now.
I see what you mean about damage dice and modifier. It looks like you can change them but it does nothing. I doubt having a mundane item creator would remedy that. This is a design flaw that should be addressed within the magic item creator. It sounds as if they have already addressed some of the issues so it may just be a matter of time until they get to the rest.
If/when they get all of the bugs out then it should be pretty easy to create whatever you want. Then it's just a matter of changing the link from "create magic item" to simply "create item" and add a "magic" tag option.
Frankly pretty annoying. Sometimes I just want to have nice looking arrows or something and be able to swap between that and normal arrows. Not functionally different, but a small flavor thing that makes rollplay better.
I also would like to see home-brew non magical items-- One of my PCs plays a Bard that wants to play an Ocarina instead of the listed musical items-- I can only put stock musical items on his equipment list.

I agree it would be nice to be able to make non-magical items. In the meantime, though, you could (or your player) could create a custom item on their sheet for the Ocarina.

Dude!! That sounds like an elegant solution. Simple and relatively easy to relate to existing code. Though, they’d have to develop an algorithm to update the database for the added column(s) for the magic bit. Nicely laid though.
I have since had to resort to the make a magic item that isn’t magical. All good though, I made a karambit dagger, changed the damage type to slashing ignored the thrown property and then still have to customize in the character sheet. (Base damage 1d4+2 - The +2 is my nemesis)
I 20-times-over second this call for non-magical homebrew items. I wanted to add the Expanded Armory weapons (specifically a bastard sword), but for some reason they haven't included this very basic function into the site. Please get on this guys!
@oboecrazy are you someone who can field this?

Sweet. Where? I’m hungry for knowledge of this feature, sorry if I came off poorly. :(

I created a Karambit and added it to a character and this is how it looks. I hope I did this right.
