So I wanted to make the character I'm currently playing here, have a digital character sheet with my physical character sheet, only to find that my character's class archetype isn't available until I purchase the player's handbook, which I already have a physical copy of.
So, I'm wondering (albeit, I believe this to be a long shot) is there a way to import the proof that I have a PhB to somewhere so I can unlock that content? If not, it's understandable (you don't buy a book at one store, then go to another and ask if you can have the same book for free, since you bought it elsewhere), but I'd be a bit bummed, since this site comes highly recommended, but I really don't think I can justify dropping another 30 on a digital book I already have, you know?
To answer your question, no, it is not possible to unlock the non-free content here via proof of hardback purchase.
If I may, I would invite you to consider the options of purchasing in the marketplace. You can buy piecemeal options (single race, single subclass and so on) and that money spent in the piecemeal purchase are detracted from the total price of the PHB.
The good news though is that the team at Curse are dedicated to getting you, the D&D community, the best value possible (within the parameters of their licensing agreement). This means that you can make partial purchases, such as the archetype you want for just $1.99. Even better, if you later decide to unlock the Player's Handbook on D&D Beyond, then the value is discounted by any purchases you've already made from it.
You can also homebrew most character options, with the exception of classes and subclasses. Homebrew subclasses are coming. If your budget allows, I'd encourage you to purchase options to support DDB and it's continued development, but if not, homebrewing is a way to use the great tools here. I've done a bit of both, since my funds are limited.
Yea, that's what I thought. Again, though, understandable. Unfortunately, I'm much more of a "physical possessions" kind of person. I like having the actual book, gives it a bit more of an authentic feel, rather then just having phones and laptops out, I guess I'm a bit old school.
Not to say that I wouldn't absolutely LOVE the resources here for online play, all the books can be cumbersome if you're going to just be at home, on whatever site you play on. Plus, from what I'm seeing, the books and resources here are markedly cheaper then the physical thing (which, let's be honest, is probably just the printing price and general markup).
With ask that being said, I might just buy the other books and supplements here (again, price-wise, it's smarter), but that's if/when I need them.
so from what i see the 13 (if i have mentally counted correctly) of 15 PhB, DMG, MM, Volvo's, Xan', ScG, ... all but 2 that i am planing to get the last 2 that is missing i can not use here? with out paying more? if this is the case then I will stop using this new account and fine other online programs that does the same jobs or keep doing everything with pen and paper (that is what everyone used before computers)

Nothing you find online that has all of the information already added is operating legally.
It sucks that your subclass isn't available, but they do plan on adding a create subclass feature, and as long as you keep it private I'm fairly certain you could transcribe it from the book

Sorry, but WotC didn't see fit to put unique codes in their books for this edition.

Hey there,
edit: ah, Filcat beat me to it! :)

I created a FAQ on Pricing & Purchase that may be worth looking at.
