It would be nice to be able to filter spells by ritual or not. And if the require concentration. - Very handy for determining what you might want to pick to memorize that day, or put in your spellbook.
You already can. Ritual is one of the options in the advance filter. Also an option there for Concentration.
And apparently I'm derping so hard I've forgotten what I did 5 mins ago. (Now, is there a mod power to move a post to a different thread to be banished?)

First, I love this app and I am really excited to see all the functionality in the final version. I did have one question/comment I wanted to bring up to you guys to see if could be implemented or already is and I just cant find the right button.
So I was building a melee mage and because of the whole "need a free hand to cast spells with somatic components, but not if that same spell has both somatic and material components and the focus you are using to replace the material is in your 'free hand'" (This ruleset always confused me, but the rules reference is in the VSM section of spell casting and in the warcaster feat through implication).
Essentially -- is there a way I can find all spells that DONT have somatic OR have somatic AND material? [ !(Somatic) || (somatic && material) ] This functionality may be pretty niche, but i think being able to find things that don't include search terms could be useful.
And I guess an extension of that question, how complicated do you expect the search terms to be? Perhaps if there was a "debug" mode that a user can enter in a more complicated search set that wouldn't mesh well with the visual search parameters you have, maybe a bar to enter something like:
!(VSM.Somatic) || (VSM.Somatic && VSM.Material)
For my earlier comment on my search parameters I was looking for. Or maybe something like this to find all spells of 2nd or 3rd level that are ritual and all spells that deal cold damage?
Looking back on my suggestions, it would seem that this would serve a really particular audience and might not be worth the implementation time. Either way, these were just some thoughts I has while pushing buttons on DDB and I'm excited to see what comes next!
I think it's already been said but cleric domains definitely need to be a filter.

I don't mean to be nitpick-y (I feel i have to, since the system is basically fantastic) but I had an issue while searching for a spell. I typed in "Pass without a Trace" and nothing came up, which was confusing, until I realized later the spell is actually "Pass without Trace" sans "a". Is there a way to fix the system so that it can list the closest matching spells? I ask because people might not remember the spell name perfectly, or misspell a word in the name. on the whole it would make the system faster.

Check out my podcast! What, you had something better to do? Have you ever heard something interesting and thought "How have they not made a movie about this yet?" Well, so have we.
I'd also like to see a filter for whether or not the spell requires an attack roll. Combined with the existing save filters lets you know what spells are unaffected by low caster stat
'R' in a small book, by the spell name, means Ritual - but it doesn't tell me that anywhere I can see. The same goes for a <C> by the duration meaning concentration.
I know these things, but newer 5e players might not and it would be much more user-friendly with something to explain them at a glance. It could be as basic as a mouse-over revealing the full word, or even a key of some kind somewhere to show what all the little symbols mean.

Thanks.
There's a little book with an R next to the spells name, for ritual. Like the c shows up in the spell duration. Take a look at Alarm for an example.
Besides Homebrew options, "Can you add a section in the core spells to edit a 'thematic' or visual image of what the spell looks like. This area would be for DMs to give flair to their campaign spells. This addition would eliminate DMs copying an original spell from the core rules into the Homebrew section just to add 'flavor thematic' in the spell description. In my game, that would create an entire duplicate spell database of just core spells, in order to get a visual description of each for my game.

I was suggesting a way to explain what they mean at a glance, whether via mousing over those small symbols or a list of what each mean, to make it more accessible.

You're right. My bad.
Hey DnD Beyond Team,

((level.2 || level.3) && ritual.yes) || damage.cold

Looking forward to Phase 2!

The flag is there, but there is no tag available for searches.

It will be really awsome!
The Ranger's Hail of Thorns is also missing.
A lot of spells from the PHB are missing from their class spell list:
Welcome to the Beta, FoxKicks! FYI it's only SRD content right now. Player's Handbook etc. will not be added until later.

Take a read through - if a spell is in the SRD and is missing from here, then that's what the devs need to be aware of.

It would be nice to filter by the spells range, you dont need it much expect for touch spells

I like the layout of the spell list and being able to sort by class and especially effect (buff, debuff ect)
It would be handy to be able to sort the spells by the ritual tag also.
cheers
