Once the other books are in after launch, along with an expanded descriptions for each individual monster, I think a link from their sub-type (e.g. Goblin, Hobgoblin, Hag, etc.) to a page that gives info about that family of monsters would be really awesome. Currently there is a list of general type (e.g. Goblinoid), but no subtype.
For example, if I click on a Gnoll Hunter in the monster list, within the monster's description would be a link to a "Gnolls" page that has all the info about them from the MM and Volo's, like their culture, common behaviors, etc.
Once mundane items are added to the item list, being able to hover over the monsters armor or weapon they are carrying would be helpful for a DM as a quick reference in case the monster loses it for whatever reason or the DM wants to switch it out.
Also, I would love to see the traits/features of the official monsters broken into modular pieces like the table on pages 280-281 in the DMG. If those features, along with weapons and armor, could be added or removed with a few clicks and the CR auto calculated based on what's been added, that would be an incredible tool for quickly building custom monsters.
Apologies if this has already been brought up, but are there plans for a tool to apply creature templates (e.g. half-dragon) and character classes to creatures?
Sorry if this has been brought up, but minor feature I'd like to have is the ability to filter Legendary or not. Just a nice way to narrow down further.
I would like to see a list of lair actions and regional effects under the Dragon listings. Also I would prefer Dragons to be listed alphabetically under Dragons not Adult, Ancient etc...
I really like what you have so far, but I have a few suggestions:
When conditions are highlighted, nest stacking conditions. For example, if the Paralyzed tooltip is showing, show the description for incapacitated nested under the first bullet point.
Let the user click on an attack or saving throw to roll it.
Provide a tooltip for monster telepathy.
Also, when you implement the homebrewing feature, I would appreciate it if DMs could modify the base version of a spell, magic item, or monster, in addition to creating specific forks or variants. For example, if I think that all fire giants should be proficient in Strength saves, it would be nice if I could modify the base fire giant and let that change propagate to my special variant fire giants (like unique giant kings).
Maybe I haven't found it, but will there be a tool to create encounters? Select some monsters in a print friendly way so you can have at the table during play, with all the XP calculated.
An encounter creator has been mentioned as a post-release feature - ie, it won't be available during the beta or immediately after the beta ends, but they're planning on it being introduced some time later on down the line.
Looking through the sorting options for the monsters there is no option to filter by planes. It would seem a very basic option to determine what creatures would be found on each of the planes and to be able to search that way.

The idea of having a template system with parent and child relationships is amazing, thanks for suggesting this. That would save an insane amount of time with creating custom versions of races or just creating brand new races/sub races all together. Seriously, awesome idea!
My only suggestion so far is in regard to the way dragons are listed. I think listing by type and then having a drop down for age categories would be a little easier.
I'd like to have a way to organize multiple monster entries for during game play. Side by side would be awesome, or an accordion of tabs or just tabs so I can quickly switch between them without scrolling to much.

Though side by side would be ideal.
You can open each monster in a new tab/window - after expanding the monster's stats, at the very bottom you will see View Monster page. Click to open in new tab and then you can have individual pages for monsters to flick between.
Mindflayers are not included in the SRD - for the Beta phases, only the SRD content is available, with the rest of the Core Books (PHB, DMG, MM) and other supplements being available through payment/subscription models later on.
Hi! Great job with everything, it looks really nice. There is one thing I'd like to see though, and that's some way to filter monster by speeds, not just land speed but fly, swim and the rare burrow too. It's nice to be able to find things like creatures that can move both on land and naturally swim and what not.
I'm not big on the icons next to the ability scores in the monster stat blocks (STR, DEX, etc). They don't appear in printed products, and don't add much in my opinion.
I think the monster stat blocks should be displayed in the same format as the standard 5e stat blocks as seen the Basic Rules, Monster Manual, etc. You get used to scanning the entries at the table and being able to find certain attributes quickly (AC, speed), so changing that here makes the tool somewhat less useful to DMs. I don't see that rearranging the elements and changing the format gains us anything.
The format in the Monster Manual works. The site should stick with it.

I know it has been said...but must add more voice to add importance.
Creatures with sub-types should be listed starting with the base creature name, e.g. Dragons.
Also, alignment should be listed in the expandable section, not just on the creature page.
More feedback to come. Thank you!!
It's a similar issue to the magical items being overloaded with all the different armours.
The dev team have confirmed that they're looking at solutions and will update us as soon as they have come up with a way forward with this. :)
