I took interest in DnD Beyond recently, but I have to say, as someone who has always had games at a table and has put ALOT of money into the physical books, its not really accessible for someone to convert to playing digitally. You can't really expect someone who has put so much money into physical books, to dump that much money again into digital books just so they can create a character on DnD Beyond without being EXTREMELY limited on what they can choose from. There needs to be a way for people who have invested in the physical books to be able to unlock digital content without having to double down to use DnD Beyond.
Hopefully they address this with 6th Ed (one d&d) like a one time code for each book that can be redeemed. Also they better give those who own the books/digital books access to the content for the vtt.

You do have access to the homebrew tool that you can recreate most everything published if you don't want to pay for the materials in the digital toolset.
