I noticed that the Actions section of the Character sheet doesn't list Grapple or Shove as available actions
Grapple and Shove are both 'attacks', using the Attack action. It wouldn't hurt to have them both on the sidebar when you click on Attack though! People do struggle with those rules.
Apologies if this is the wrong place, but I couldn’t find a wish list thread.
I’d like the currency management area to be similar to the hit point area, in that it would be handy to be able to type in an amount of gold, silver etc and have it added or subtracted to/from the current stash.
It seems that there is a word missing from the description of Divine Sense as described under Paladin Features in the Features & Traits tab. It should probably read: "[...]you can sense anything affected by the hallow [spell] or know the location[...]".
Love the revamp but have come across 2 issues with exporting to PDF.
1) Linguist Feat has an unknown chunk Type
=== FEATS === Linguist • PHB 167 Increase your INT score by 1. You learn three languages of your choice. You can create written ciphers that others can't decipher you teach them, they succeed on an INT check (DC proficiency+abilityscore:int - Unknown chunk type: abilityscore, or they use magic to decipher it.
2) The other possessions are not exported into the equipment, or any other section of the sheet.

Variant humans lost their language option, it is seen on the details if you made the character before yet can’t change it. İf you make new, option is not there.
Rangers, when they pick humanoids as favored targets, lost the option to pick 2 favored humanoids.
I was trying to add the Polearm Master Attack to the combat page, but there is insufficient options to customize to display it properly. Although checking Display as Attack works, as it displays the attacks name in the combat page, but it has no stats regardless of whether I write anything in the custom fields or not.
So I tried to make a Custom Weapon Attack to mimic this ability, but it also has insufficient options to customize it, for example the melee reach or the attack bonus (in case of a magic weapon, or when using Great Weapon Master with it).
Same problem with a General action. No option to modify the Attack bonus. Did I miss anything?
I would add one more request to this: could you have a "minimize panel" button on there, which minimized the panel to the titles and put it on top of the page as a "link"? Kind of like what I mocked up earlier in the thread; if I don't want to see the skills panel at all times, hit minimize and it just becomes a text "SKILLS" link with the cog icon next to it for me to click on, maybe with a new maximize next to that.
I don't know how hard it would be to let people do that considering everything has been done with fixed positioning.
Have you considered letting people re-order panels?
I did something Similar with the Sneak Attack Bonus. I think the Stat block should be STR, your 'Dice Count' should be 1, and you shouldn't have a 'Fixed Value'.
Apologies if this is the wrong place, but I couldn’t find a wish list thread.

Lazy I know, but it would be convenient.
Actually, adding to this, can we get it so that there is an easy conversion in there as well? I can do the math, but I have a few players that appear to be constantly confused by the powers of ten ... imperial system users, what can I say? But having some way to click on Copper and tell it to convert straight up to Gold or Platinum, if sufficient copper is present, would be super cool.
Looks like great updates to look forward to! Are you going to be putting all the limited use stuff in one place as well? I didn't see that explicitly mentioned but it was a frequent request here, so I wasn't sure.
recent joiner to DnD Beyond and my players have yet to play a game with the digital character sheets. I wasn't aware of the character sheet revamp when i signed up and only had a brief look at the old character sheets which, although functional, i found the constant swiping to not be that intuitive. i was mainly going to use DDB to keep track of PC characters and update them and print them out for the players. But, since joining and watching the dev updates and now seeing the new character sheet i can say that DDB will be my character sheet of choice going forward.
we are a small gaming group who've been playing DnD together for over nearly 30 years and, despite this, it's amazing how many arguments/questions i have to answer about "what does this do?", "how do i do this?", "can i do X?" etc. we don't only play DnD so the players aren't constantly reading the rules so they have that as an excuse (plus we're all middle-aged with failing memories) but i love how now the information is there on the character sheet if required and i'm hoping that it will reduce the number of questions i have to answer and also speed up the game without having to constantly pass the PHB around the table!
we're on a mid-season break in the campaign at the moment but i've updated their character sheets in DDB and sent them out and 3 out of the 4 players absolutely love the character sheet and the information it has on it. yes, there could potentially be improvements but if it stayed the way it was then i think they'd all be happy. the 4th player is a luddite and refuses to stare at a phone all night and so he's getting a printed off character sheet. there's always one isn't there! <rolls eyes>
anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the character sheet revamp. i think it's brilliant.
We have found 1 issue. We cannot add weight to custom items in our equipment. Changing weight of an item when you add an item in the system is ok but when you make a custom item we can't change the weight of it.
I did something Similar with the Sneak Attack Bonus. I think the Stat block should be STR, your 'Dice Count' should be 1, and you shouldn't have a 'Fixed Value'.
Right now it would display as Damage: 2 (0d4+0)
No, it doesn’t work like that. This is what it shows right now, which is almost good:
Again, my problem is not that I cannot use it anyway. The character is lvl 14 with STR 20, and the custom attack automatically knows to use strength for melee, adds the ability modifier and proficiency, has a base reach of 5 ft.
My problem is that the weapon is a +2 magic weapon, and I can only add it to damage, but not the attack bonus. Also if I want to use Great Weapon Master with the butt end of my glaive, there is no way here to automatically subtract 5 from the attack bonus.
Hi! Could we possibly get the ability to have out preferences for the character sheet remembered by the system?
eg, I'd like to open a character sheet and have it just automatically have the sidebar docked and locked, and I'd like to set the builder to default to showing the stats on top, because I have an irrationally strong dislike of the mods on top setup.
Why aren't the side panel/overlay settings saved when I set them? It's rather annoying to have to re-lock the panel into place every time I open a character sheet.
Thank you for your feedback request for the panel position settings to be saved between characters/sessions. :)
I can't even get mine to switch from overlay to being on the side of everything else.
I had the same problem. The only way to avoid the overlay sidebar have to be zoomed out enough / have a larger screen resolution (in the top bar go to "View > Zoom Out"). I will note that the larger, inherent problem with this solution is that the text is CRAZY small at that point. I'm not an old geezer; I have 20/15 vision and it even makes me squint on your average laptop size. Considering how much space is left in the margins, even when not zoomed in that much, this is crazy. Needs to be adjusted for all browsers and up to a reasonable text size.
Yep, I figured out that if I zoom out, the option to dock the sidepanel shows up, and then I can click it, lock it, and thenzoom back in a good bit and have it stays there.

I have 1920x1080 widescreen monitors. It only shows up when I maximize my browser on that window.
Edit: Looking at the CSS, the sidepanel being able to lock to the side of the character sheet like that requires that you expand the width of the sheet to 1200px or more, which with margins and padding, the entire window has to be 1583px or higher. So if you're using a resolution smaller than that, you won't be able to lock it into place the way I have.

First off, I really appreciate the feedback given in this thread. It's great to get confirmation that the new format is working so well for many of you, and it's great to be able to get feedback on challenges or frustrations from the broader community. Thanks!
I'll share a few things that are on our minds after sifting through everything. Keep in mind these are thoughts and intent at this point - not final decisions or executions.
On desktop, we're going to see about displaying a single box to the right (instead of two) to give the content a little more room to breathe.
We're going to see about getting AC and Initiative to display more prominently (and not just in the Combat section).
On that note, the Combat section is probably going away (in favor of a combined Actions section since AC and Initiative won't be there anyway).
With more room in the bigger content area, we'll display a full spell/ equipment list, with filters to shrink that list as needed.
We will try to resize the desktop view to be able to fit it into the smaller iPad Pro 10.5 in landscape.
On mobile, we're going to look into a way to bring back swiping between sections. The floating nav button will remain for quick jumping between the sections if desired.
Those are a few of the things I'm comfortable to talk about this early - we'll definitely keep an eye on all the feedback to make improvements.
Thanks again!
I'm extremely excited for all of that. I mean, I don't care about swiping from panel to panel on mobile, but the rest of it is awesome news!
Further to the above, it would be great if there was an option to store a larger character portrait, maybe it comes up when you click the profile picture. Would make Sharing more interesting if you could show off some character art too
Also I'd just like seeing my portrait more clearly when viewing the character.
Quote from Echohawk>I'd quite like to be able to mark blocks of text inside the "Background" or "Notes" (or other) sections as [secret]. Anything marked liked that shouldn't appear on a shared sheet, but could still be visible to the player (and the DM in a campaign).
Man, yes please. This would be awesome!
Probably require sections within the notes and background sections, with privacy toggles.
I'm sure this has come up, but I would love to be able to make the print darker and the backdrop dark as well. The white with the grey lettering is literally killing my eyes.
I think it would be nice to have the "Weight" and "Cost" for items show up when adding them, and not just after they have been added.
Preferably as part of a containerized inventory system with permission based shareable objects such as "Camp", "Mule", Party "Bag of holding" assigned to a person to carry but movable to someone else if that party member doesn't show up, and GM "Shops" that deduct payment from player or group funds on a confirmation selection pop up that could possibly include a "request negotiation" but that allows the GM to adjust the price of the trade or shop (assumedly based on a pass or fail role).
That's just my 2 cents.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The lack of inflection in text means that a reader of any post adds their own inflection as they "verbalize" it in their head. I write long and repetitive in an effort to be clear and avoid my intent from being skewed or inverted. I am also bad at examples. It is common for people to skim my posts pull out the idea they think I mean or want to argue against or focus on my bad example instead of the point I am actually trying to make. I apologies for the confusion my failure to be clear and concise creates.

NiceAmazing to see the degree to which your team continues to respond to user feedback! Thanks!(PS, could you introduce pane resizing (vertically) ?)
