the DM of a campaign and the actual players can't see the Manage Spells section because it's more than just a list of known spells - it allows editing of everything about those spells. Another user that is not the DM or player would not need access to this edit functionality, so the gearwheel is removed in read-only mode.
If the specific request is to expose the "spellbook" of a wizard, we can look into that.
It will be cool if any class which can prepare spells, will have special tab with all availeble spells where you can just check mark spells like in equipment. This cog should be clicked only when you have something significant to change or to add (when character level up, or find new cool spell to write it in his spellbook, when you rebuild youre character), and not when you need to look on youre ritual spells, or choose spells for today, you may need to do this multiple time for session and it's very inconvinient.
We received feedback fairly quickly that things like alignment or even background were considered sensitive by some.
This is actually really starting to annoy me now. If I want to share my characters, then I want to share them, not share a stripped down version of them. I've set my character to public on purpose. If people want to be weird about privacy on a character, then why can't the privacy setting be what restricts these things from showing up? My character's that I'm sharing are getting reduced to a bunch of mechanical aspects rather than, you know, their character.

That’s a really good point. The minmaxers may like sharing builds but there will definitely be folk that want to share their character’s backstories and personalities
Further to the above, it would be great if there was an option to store a larger character portrait, maybe it comes up when you click the profile picture. Would make Sharing more interesting if you could show off some character art too
I know that being able to toggle how public some parts of the character sheet are has been suggested previously, and will be looked at. But I'm not sure that's just a yes or no thing. I'd quite like to be able to mark blocks of text inside the "Background" or "Notes" (or other) sections as [secret]. Anything marked liked that shouldn't appear on a shared sheet, but could still be visible to the player (and the DM in a campaign).

I would love that. I spend a large chunk of my character creation time looking for just the right picture. I've even kept a Large and Small version of my character portraits on my HDD in case I ever need the larger version.

I am also struggling to use the character sheet on mobile because of the navigation relying on the back button, which takes you back to the "My Characters" screen.
I'm on iOS 11.4, iPhone SE, Safari browser. Are there plans for a native app? I downloaded the D&D Beyond app thinking it would allow access to the character builder, not just content.
The character sheet will come to the app eventually. The app is still considered a beta, and functionality there is still being added I believe that listings (monsters, spells, etc) are the next big add for the app, but character sheets are on the list.

Any chance of getting the top/height of the side panel to be the same height as the rest of the character sheet panels. It feels off to have that one taller than the rest of the sheet. Especially if you scroll all the way down.
Here's the CSS to use for Stylus (DO NOT USE STYLISH -- It's spyware now.), if you want to achieve this without having to wait for D&D Beyond to make the right decision and implement this change:
Being able to use spoiler blocks and formatting in the notes and background section to hide sensitive information might go a long way towards solving the issue. Easier to code than granular shaing within the sheet? That i couldn't say.

Yeah they could fix this by using the history API.

Yes, It would be awesome if the wizard's spellbook was exposed. Thank you.
It wasn't designed to use the back button because that button is browser controlled and does exactly as you stated. It was designed to use the navigation menu in the lower right corner. You have to train yourself to go back to that menu to change screens. Keep in mind that this isn't the final mobile layout, they've been stating that their main focus and priority has been to get it right on desktop first as it seems a majority of people are interacting via desktop. We just need a little patience on the mobile front (myself included).

How did you get that image in your Campaign Sidebar to constrain to the window size? Is the sidebar the same size on all screens? Also, how'd you get the links to appear like that?
The equipment list has a column for "location" but there's no way to add custom locations on the sheet. It's kind of annoying because my wizard doesn't carry his cart and mule around on his back.
I would imagine this is a "first step" in the better inventory management they have teasingly spoken about once or twice. As the guy who usually ends up with the party funds and inventory, I look forward to being able to store items in my Bag of Holding, then store it in the group's Cart for easy inventory consolidation.
I also wouldn't mind some form of group-access inventory, but that sounds more like a campaign request, to me, than a character sheet one.
I noticed on my fighter/rogue there is no clear indication that I have sneak attack or how many die I use for it. I think it would be helpful to have that in my attack section. also my character is a Battle Master and its not very clear where to look to see what maneuvers I have. This character sheet is much improved over the old one though, thanks.

The fundamental issue is that I can't share a playable version of my character someone else. Yes, you should 100% allow us to see the contents what spells a character knows, not just the ones they happen to have prepared for that day.
The usability issue of having to go to "manage spells" in the first place is annoying just to pick your spells for the day too. Why can I equip and attune equipment without the sidebar, but I have to go into the sidebar to pick spells? If spells were listed like equipment, this would have addressed both of these concerns. So yes, please look into adding this.

The issue with this is that you, or I, only have the experiences of ourselves and those we game with to base this on - what if Curse has data that 95% of players don't bother changing their prepared spells other than when levelling up? It suddenly becomes way less beneficial to list all of them in the way you described for 19 out of 20 people.
Giving feedback that you would like a certain feature and why you would like it is awesome, the team love that information, but please remember that you're talking about your own experiences and not those of everyone that uses D&D Beyond.
The request to be able to share a character with someone, such that they have all of the information necessary to play the character is understood.

Truth be told, you can totally assign a character sheet to another account via campaign slot. The share, again, is meant to be view-only.
Also, spells do not work like items because there is a lot of complexity behind them. I am not saying that in the future you won't be able to manage the spells as easy as you do for the items. Just saying, the new sheet is not even 1 week old. While any feedback is welcome, the team needs to weight that feedback and find the optimal solution for most users.

Developers have been doing this for years in their single page web apps.
Users use the back button. Plain and simple. The app should meet user behavior patterns.

EDIT: Nevermind, width="100%" worked.
