Keying off the note about Colorblindness, one possible solution implementation would be adding a user configurable setting that adds a "colorblind" class the the body tag, then uses CSS to append the different characters to the url's test as indicated above. For example, surrounding a skill tooltip with square brackets:
I purposely didn't use the brackets [ ] due to how they are used in to enclose functions in web pages. That is why I suggest using dashes.

Yeah, we use the square brackets to do the linking thing now so I like the idea of different types of dashes or what not that would automatically appear when you do the linking besides the cool color. Then again the color is just a fun coding and for the most part does not look like black and is bolder text so at least it should be seen as a link with a tooltip popup or to another page when the mouse is hovered over. Though a visual code to help is still an awesome idea for the colorblind.

Don't get held up on the brackets, they were just for the code example. Any character can be used. ^_^
