This is an outstanding update. This weekend I was testing the site with two tabs open. One for the Find Familiar spell and the other for the Monsters to look at the critters you could cast. It really worked well in a way that was improved over flipping through manuals (This is part of what I am interested in for this site...I still do not mind flipping through a book...just not multiple books). As I was in the process, I was tabbing between the spell and monsters and read about the Bat with Blindsense. I could not go any further on DDB. This had me thinking about websites that discuss MTG and hovering over the card name and then seeing the card. This morning, I see that it is already rolled out. This really makes a significant difference in how I view this site as digital reference. One thing I have not checked, but please consider, is that the different colors are bold enough to stand out in a way that is noticeable for people with color blindness...not to be confused with blindsense or darkvision. Thank you for the updates and keep it up.
As a mobile device user I would really like that clicking the link wouldn't immediately go to the reference page, but just show the little tooltip of the ability. Especially when the mobile app comes around, it would be essential for fluid use. As of now it's impossible to see the tooltip with a touch device.
Loving the update still, keep up the good work. :)
I must admit, however, that I am curious about how this will work in the eventual proper release.
If I link a monster from a book I own, how will it seem to someone that doesn't own that book?
We will check the user's access rights to the content being tool-tipped.. If they do not have access, they will see 'blocked content' instead tool-tip. That 'blocked content' phrase is still a work in progress.

I hope there is at least some kind of partial sharing for some things if a DM has purchased content and a player hasn't. Like if both DM and Player are logged in, a player is tagged in a DMs game, and finds for instance the Sunsword in CoS. They should at least be able to see it's abilities on their character sheet "temporarily" while both logged in or something.

We'll be able to share more on how all of this will work soon, but not quite yet!
Now this is a feature that combined with a campaign manager system (which if the quality of the things you guys have done so far only tells me will be amazing), is something that can guarantee success. So very much appreciated! Great work, thank you!!

Curious if we will get some sort of a script we can attach to other sites that allow for the tool tip to work there? For example if a group uses a blog to keep track of their adventure, and wants to use the tool tips when listing items, rather than the person having to go to another site or book to look it up.

Link/ tooltip syndication for use on other sites is a definite yes, just not until a little further down the road.
Noticed kraken has some text cut off with langauges. Dunno if it's a text limit thing and thus not unique to the kraken, or if it's on other tooltips as well.

This is excellent. :)

What an awesome feature!
One minor IOL improvement idea.

Gotta say, this is the feature that's going to make the monster listing the best way to view monster stats for D&D 5e. Good work!

I suppose a valid question is what happens when one tries to tooltip something that doesn't exist, such as [Tooltip Not Found]?
Edit: Answer is that the text disappears. Good to know?
