So I'd like to use this more often and think I would if I could sub monthly and get the chance to unlock stuff from the marketplace.
Maybe each month you get a credit which can be used towards market place items. This way we could slowly build up our content on beyond without the hefty costs up front.
I'll probably never buy the dmg, mm, phb or skt on here as I already have those but wouldn't mind working towards the others.
Also, if we do already have books can we get then on here without paying for then again.
You can partial purchase books, just buying the content you need at the time. A subclass here, a race there.... the amount spent on these is deducted from the cost of upgrading to the relevant full book on D&D Beyond, so you don't lose out by doing this.
Content is unlocked by purchases, not by subscription. The subscription page in the marketplace details what each tier of subscription grants.
In terms of your question about already having the books in physical form, no, there's no way to get them for free here. That's been discussed to death here already; a little searching will lead you to those threads. If you have the time, the patience, and the skills, you can homebrew all the player options except for invocations and a few other "sub-subclass" things
If you are interested in paying a little at a time, I would encourage you to do what Stormknigt suggests. You might find the buyers guide and what I/we bought and why threads linked in my signature of help if you want to go that route.

Thanks both of you. I didn't realise the purchasing of sections would work towards the complete title. So good to know.
