My biggest request would be that for when I am searching for monsters, magical items, etc, and I can filter by "Source", a "Source books I own" option would be great, so I don't have to go through the list and click on 8 different things each and every time. Even if the list/tab was just separated by "Source Books" and "Published Adventures", that would help. But honestly, a "show only content that is available to me" button would be fantastic.
A really simple one, but one that is causing my players a lot of confusion in my game: I'm using the Slow Natural Healing rule from the DMG (pg. 267), which means they don't get all their hit points back during a Long Rest, but need to roll hit dice instead. But there's no way for them or me, as the DM and campaign creator, to toggle whether or not a Long Rest restores all of their hit points, so they've been needing to first do a Short Rest, roll hit dice, then do a Long Rest and then change their hit points back to the correct value if they were at less than full. But this process is confusing for my players on occasion and leads to some mistakes. If we could just set it so Long Rests don't give back hit points, it would really make things easier for them.
Tl;dr: could we get a toggle for Long Rests restoring hit points for campaigns that use Slow Natural Healing?

Absolutely, this would be fantastic! I would prefer "show only content that is available to me" because my group often shares books through campaign sharing.
This has been bugging me for a long time, enough so that I am finally going to put in a request for it. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Can you please add an option to filter by purchased content from the marketplace? You already have robust filtering options when searching your database for rules on stuff, and this is great, but I'd like the ability to filter out results for things I don't own. There's nothing more frustrating when looking for say a monster or magic item that fits my required specifications than to click on a search result and see "sorry, you need to buy something to actually see this search result". I know this is partly how you make your money and I don't begrudge that at all—by default, a search should include all options, even the ones I don't own—but it would be nice if I could choose to filter those things out as maybe an advanced filter option.
TL;DR Want to see a filter by purchased content added to advanced search functions.
All I want, is for when I click on literally anything in the character sheet, no matter what it is, including adventuring gear, part of the details tab that opens is the source of the item.
We shouldn't ever have to google to find out where a thing comes from. It needs to be part of every single game element's basic information, both in the character sheet and on it's details page in the compendium.
Scrolled through several pages and didn't see a single mod or developer response to anything, so not hopeful, but here goes.....
I play with a group who likes super high level adventures. We have played multiple campaigns from level 1 all the way past level 20. We love using dndbeyond because most everything is super streamlined and easy to use....
The only issue is that in these long, high level campaigns, we ALWAYS have to switch back to pencil and paper past level 20. I know there aren't official rules on multiclassing past a 20th level character, but maybe if you could just remove the 20th level block to a multiclassed character?

Beyond has to represent the rules as close to as they are written as they can. There are no rules above level 20 in 5e, so Beyond cannot allow rules for over level 20... multiclass or not.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
They're not, but they're not wrong either. D&D Beyond cannot fabricate rules, so removing the 'level 20 block' on multiclassing isn't a likelihood unless Wizards of the Coast does so with an official product. As it stands, there is no level progress beyond level 20 in the official rules, so D&D Beyond reflects that.
There are people who do ask WotC through their social media channels about moving past the level 20 cap and allowing "epic" levels of play. I don't have any specific citations on hand, but my understanding is that when this ask is made it's always deflected to consider "epic boons" and the like (which can be supported through homebrew feats).
However, if WotC did at some point release a mainstream (not UA, not DMsGuild) product that supported leveling up beyond 20, D&D Beyond would presumably endeavor to incorporate beyond 20th level advancement into the D&D Beyond Toolset (not speaking as staff, but incorporating official WotC material into their Toolkit is the entirety of their product model, the big selling point of D&D Beyond is that it's "official" ... going beyond level 20 is presently literally outside the official rules).
In other words to see D&D Beyond accommodate Beyond lvl 20 play, you'd need WotC to provide a ruleset opening 5e to beyond lvl 20 play.
I don't think it's likely, as I believe WotC market research doesn't see a lot of or interest in playing D&D at 4th tier of play, let alone beyond it, so have generally produced content for players of levels 1-15*. Of course, there are 3rd party presses with some successful products out there supporting "epic level" play; but what's successful for a 3rd party / small press is very different from what would be considered successful for WotC.
*Some say that drop off in playing at the limits of the game is a consequence of the game's mechanical design starting to break down at that level, but that's drifting beyond the point of this thread.
When I was on here in mid to late 2018, I vaguely remember messaging you guys complaining that it's not possible to order homebrew content by the date posted. I said this would make it impossible to find new homebrew content, and would make difficult for users to get their newest content seen, rated, and discussed. I said that it would stop dndbeyond from developing its own homebrew community.
It's now three and a half years later. In those three years, the top ten highest rated homebrew spells have not changed. The newest entry in the top 20 is by the DnDbeyond staff writer James Haeck, and it is two years old.
Please add an option to order homebrew by date posted, and make it the default. It would also be worth adding an option to order by top rated per week/month/year. I cannot fathom a good reason not to.
I also don't understand why the default option is alphabetical! For the past three and a half years, users and moderators to quell the endless flow of spam trash titled "aaaaack" or "(magic move)" or "100-arrow blast" et cetera. Stop being silly, DnDBeyond.
Hi. Would it be possible to add requirements to magic items for additional effects, regardless of attunement? For example, a magic shortsword that has +1 bonus to damage, but gets +1 bonus to hit if the wielder has proficiency with cooking utensils. Or vice versa with the bonuses.

No official item does this, as such DDB doesn't support such contingencies. If an official item is published that has such a feature, DDB will endeavour to support that, thus adding the relevant modifiers to the homebrew tools
There are awesome variant rules in the chapter 9 of the DMG, but the only variant rule that was implemented in DDB is Variant Encumbrance. Are there any plans for adding the rest of them, like proficiency dice or different initiative options and so on?
If they are planned, can the variant rules be tied to campaigns, rather than characters? It would make the variant rules much more manageable if the settings were inherited from the campaign the character is in.
I create lots of encounters that are tied to a specific campaign. When I filter encounters by campaign and then select an encounter, I can't go back to the filtered encounter list. ist just brings me back to all encounters and I have to filter again. Rinse. Repeat.
it would be more DM friendly to be able to quickly return to my campaign-based encounters.

Question to the Moderators/Admins:
Does anyone from DDB actually look at this thread and make note of what people are asking for, or are we just posting to a stone wall?
Thanks!
think if there was a way i'd give it a go :-)
