One thing that would be really handy would be a "TO TOP" button on the site and/or when you scroll up the menu bar appears. Some pages can be quite long and can make navigating a bit difficult at times. This is especially the case when you are in a source/adventure book, as the book nav is always present but the site nav disappears until you scroll all the way up to the top of the page.
I’m a mobile site user, so I don’t know if there is a desktop version of this, but if I tap the top of my browser above the URL bar it automatically takes me to the top. Maybe someone knows of something like this for desktop browsing?
For desktop, I just press the <Home> button on my keyboard. Not all keyboards come with it though, so you may have to fiddle around with a function key plus whatever other key, or the keyboard might not even have the function key at all to do simple miscellaneous commands like that. I think it is still a nice button to have on each section of the webpage just in case a user cannot use their <Home> button or for those who are less tech savvy.
Suppose for the sake of argument that I live in a Mac household....

I am not sure. I think Macs might have something similar, but I am not too familiar with their system.

I use a mac and the only pages that don't have that feature in some fashion are the forum pages. If the page has a table of contents in the corner, one of the buttons there will bring you to the top. Otherwise, there should be a green circle with an up arrow in the bottom right corner of the page. (sometimes hidden behind page content)
Possibility of adding folders for Characters. Something to add characters into folders for TAC characters, NPCs, PCs. So instead of looking through a huge list of characters - especially for us DMs - there's folders to narrow down how much we look through.

Most pages have them. Look at the bottom right of your screen.
How have I not noticed that before?! *face palm*. Thanks. Though it would still be handy to have this added to all pages. I know I could (and currently do) just press the HOME button. It's just more of a nice to have than a need.
A little toggle to turn on some sort of icon or marker to denote if something is homebrew or not would be nice. Maybe like the icon like you see in attunement items, but with an H. Helps discern homebrew from core in character sheets or when selecting things to add.
Request that magic items can be sorted by TYPE (minor or major) in addition to existing filters. I'm honestly baffled as to why it's not there, given that Xanather's Guide makes this distinction explicit in terms of how the RAW intend magic items to be distributed.

i don't get this though... there is no minor items or major items... their rarity is what they have. but there are artefact with minor and major benefice or flaws. i don't think items themselves have that distinction. at least not that i know of.
maybe i'm just missing something. we can already sort by rarity.

An option to the Character Sheets so can add actual entries for Allies, Enemies, and Organizations. Being able to add an entry for something like:
Entry Name: Bob
Could be nice to have it also drop down when selected to have the notes section a bit more compact and organized.

I'd like to be able to rename skills. I know we can already create new skills, but I'm planning a sci-fi game and it'd be much easier to rename things like Arcana into "Tech" and Animal Handling into "Drone Hack" instead of making new skills and cluttering up the list.
How bout something like roll20, astral, etc but with our monthly subscription adds in all the monsters for all the extra books and adventures we have done. This is seriously something I wouldnt mind payin extra for. I hate having to play a module on here, and trying to port stuff over to table top simulator or roll20 cause the models dont match up and having to deal with the different character sheets etc. Like seriously id make it rain if it was simply easy and all the books where incorporated along with the maps from the adventures etc.
Is it possible that you create a new selection under the Collections tab (along with My Characters; My Encounters; My Campaigns; etc) for MyLibrary. This would ideally give me access in one place where I could only see only the source books that I have purchased. Rather than going into the main source book list, which shows every book available, and doesn’t differentiate which books I have or haven’t purchased, until I click on one, to see if it asks me to buy it when I try to access it. This makes it difficult to remember which I have purchased — I would like to be able to easily access and see only the ones I have purchased and have full access to them from this “My Library” page.
Perhaps a different solution would be to have a filter system in the regular source books page that would allow us to use this filter to see only the books I have purchased and another filter might show only books I haven’t purchased. Or different color text of the titles differentiating which I’ve purchased and which I’ve not. Or even in the “View all” view, a different colored border around the book cover images could differentiate purchased and unpurchased books. Please find a way to do this.
(I realize I can find the titles that I have purchased in my account purchase history, however I cannot access the books from that listed history.
Well, I and I'm sure many, many DMs don't want all that great feedback there lost - so reposting my particular post from August 2017.
Yes, it's been 3.5 years with very little traction - as much as I love DDB (and trust me, I do!), I and I'm sure countless DMs are beyond disappointed with the lack of significant updates to the Campaign page. Never thought DM's campaign pages would still be in the extremely basic shape they're still in on DDB after all this time. Even half of what Obsidian Portal could do years ago would be a huge step forward.
(To be clear, I'm not talking about encounter builders/combat trackers anymore myself, more high level for the campaign: organizing, collecting and linking campaign info among multiple items, pages and/or folders, integrated with character sheets in that campaign as much as possible. Wiki-like. Some of what Discord can be used for. Obsidian Portal was a decent example, just poor execution and support.)
Here's my original post on Campaign Management - honestly, other than this point as a long-time mostly DM, love the site and thank you for everything else!
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for this D&D Beyond Campaign Manager to 1000% replace the disappointing Obsidian Portal campaign manager we use today.
I mean, we can't even print character sheets from Obsidian Portal! It's basic misses/mistakes like these that drive passionate fan bases and users absolutely crazy.
Look forward to the DDB CM becoming a helpful DM session, combat and campaign management tool - with built-in simplicity or complexity - as much or as little of each as each individual user and DM wants!
A true host of simple, complex, and in-between optional features for the Campaign Manager, please - thank you!
I'm posting this because personally i feel it needs amending i don't know how many Artificers , bards , rouges agree with me . please excuse spelling I'm dyslexic .
we need a tools roll bored and information on what tools can be used to do certain checks thanks to Xanthatrs guide to everything
i would prefer a separate bar to pull up but with the tool roll options
I’d love a modular campaign dm tool for running the game as well as prep and organization . One screen where I can pull up my players sheets, and encounters keep them organized by game or area or completed. A place for my script would be nice also just to have for posterity. Maps with markers Linked to notes, encounters npcs . Npc sheets and notes.
We could even share these homebrew campaign modules
I love dnd beyond but it feels skewed to players not dms, I guess there are more players and I love the tools that you’ve made but I’d love some for dungeon Masters also since were often the ones paying for subscriptions.
also sometimes for players and dms alike with the new roll sharing I’d love a visual initiative tracker for players in dungeon Masters I would want to be able to hide the monsters names potentially but if information can be shared in a campaign that be a huge help would be nice if it was a pop out window more pop outs in general would be nice.
