I haven't scoured over this, I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere but as a DM it'd be great to have a way to organize the character sheets I make for stuff like NPC's. Maybe a way to even attach those characters to the game I'm running, without the PC's being able to see them and potentially a way to group them together? I know the private notes section would probably be the best way to deal with it, kind of like how you do with pre-generated characters for adventures, but it'd still be nice to have a way to organize it visually.
In the meantime, you can try making a homebrew monster and adding a link in your private notes.
Early in this thread (like the 3rd post, made in march 2017) it said that the tool offered is not a campaign manager, is still very true today. From what I see I don't have a way to manage the game, I have a notepad (highlighted by the above post where the work around is to put links in my private notes), and links to the players character sheets. Both of those are helpful, but there isn't anything that is truly helping me manage the campaign. I couldn't have said it better, so here is a link to the post, and a quote from it.
Guys, whats the purpose of the "Create a folder" inside the Campaign details? I tried to create one to test it but nothing happens...
That is something that was added by one the of the chrome extensions, not sure which one exactly.
Edit: Just checked it is beyond help that adds that button, it was done for managing characters. I don't know all of the details but that is what it is there for.

Hi! It is indeed a feature of Beyond Help. It should open a modal to create a folder for campaign characters if you are the DM of the campaign. The button is also present on "My Charactes" page. It is odd that its not working (just checked here with version 0.12.0 and it is working). I will send you a PM to check for details, and not extend the extension discussion on this thread.
I'm just starting out with world building in my new campaign. Here's something that I would find really useful:
Custom tags for everything: monsters, spells, items, you name it.
Include (1) in all the search and filter features.
Auto-generate/auto-update tables based on (2).
Save and organize (3) in the campaign.
I'm building generic shop inventories at the moment, and it's a lot of web site search and copypasta into Excel. This is typical for every time I create tables. So, this isn't the first nor will it be the last time something like this would be useful.
You know what I'm sure will never be added, but would just make my day?
A collaborative, play-by-play activity tracking tool, where anyone in the campaign can just quickly add in short logs (250 character tweets, basically) about campaign activity. Especially if you could easily tag players, NPCs, locations, or other pages that the DM has created within the campaign.
Something like:
@Aroval learned from @Geoffrey-the-Mad that the #Vorpal-Sword can likely be found in #Irwindale.
Those tags could link to their respective pages, or when you click on a tag you could see all of the "tweets" related to that person. E.g. Clicking on #Irwindale would show me any record I have of talking about the city, or the people and locations in it. Clicking on #Vorpal-Sword would show me all the hints I gathered from NPCs talking about it.
Then, some tweets/logs could be marked as DM only, so he can have his notes seamlessly integrate with the players.
All logs would be stored on the campaign, but maybe the 10 or 15 most recent could show up on the homepage, so you can see the most recent key events from the campaign.

That's an amazing idea. I wonder if I can pull that off in Obsidian Portal.

Speaking of, I would love to see Obsidian Portal's features added to DnD Beyond. Basic wiki functionality seems like a staple for a campaign management. I'm just now (finally) able to convince my players to get on DnD Beyond. The chance of players logging into two independent services seems nigh impossible.

The ability to add custom tags just for your account, or just for your campaign would be amazing!

I would love this function. Gives me the idea that I might do this in the interim as a private facebook group or something
the campaign tool is just a glorified note pad, underwhelming
DDB staff have been clear from the first release of the campaign element that it is currently only a place holder, whose current primary function is to facilitate content sharing. There are plans to expand its features but a) they have a small development team and other features have had higher priority and b) campaign management means different things to different peopl; they have wanted time for folks to spell out what they are looking for (thus, in part, this thread) and time to plan what to include and how to include it.

Since this is a giant threat maybe some of this has already come up, but I will not read the hole threat. I know some of this is big, but its a wishlist so everything goes.
First I would like to add monsters to a campaign. I use some NPC's, which are controlled by the Players during fights and they are perfectly represented as a Monster. The best would be if I could choose from my Homebrew-Collection what I want to share with my players. That way I wouldn't have to publish stuff thats only relevant to my group.
I also would like something like the party treasure, an empty character with only an inventory, because my players have a ship where they can store stuff.
I have my own world and I use a wiki to collect the information about it. It would be nice if that was a function available in the campaign.
Since I have my own world a Map function would be awesome. I load up a picture of the world and mark stuff on there and if you scroll in you get another picture which is a more detailed view of that area. Basically I want Google Maps/Earth for my Campaign World.
As much as I'd love to see huge sweeping campaign management updates, the one thing I'd really love to see is a way to award xp to the group without loading each of their pages individually. Just a bulk "Add XXX XP to all active characters option.
A group "treasure box" would be awesome (can include XP). So I don't have to give things to people, only to have them say actually I hand this to <other player>. Gets tedious, especially with items built on-the-fly.
In the meantime, you can try making a homebrew monster and adding a link in your private notes.

What I would love would be a DM screen insert style campaign manager or an addition of that in the manager.
A place where you could import your monster stat blocks, your player stats and any of the rules you want...
A DM screen on Beyond please
is there a way to add a character i've created into a campaign I made? I only seem to be able to create an unassigned character.
