I posted this in another thread but then found this one. So I am reposting it here. I think others have posted about a campaign journal but heres my take on it.
I am doing an in-person campaign but had my players create their characters in D&D Beyond. We only get together once every 2 weeks, and it would be nice to have a Campaign journal I can update after each session so players have something to return to before the next session. I know there are features in roll20, but since we are doing everything in person, it would be a value add to have the journal and player characters in one place on the same app. I also listed some cool features that could be useful in the journal for both players and DM.
-Create a session journal where the DM can summarize the sessions and have a written log for players to return to as a reminder of their "adventure so far".
-Milestone achievements list/Notification. This system allows for quick milestone achievements to be listed, such as finding an important object, leveling up, or quest/task completion. It is a quick reference for players to look back at and remind themselves of important milestones—something like a bulletin guide or a quick reference guide that may be easier to read for players during the session.
-NPC and Locations list. Allows DM's to create a list of important Characters and Locations the players have met or visited. Be able to upload pictures or icons to the characters or places and list quick references about things they have learned about the NPC's or locations.
-DM To Player Specific Notes. Allow DMs to create player-specific notes that only those players can see. I know players have notes on their player sheets, but I have some place where only players can see that is for the campaign events and not necessarily character notes themselves can be handy. Also being able to list if the notes should show up in that players characters specific notes with just a checkbox would be helpful. Giving the DM one central location to update notes for the character and player.
-Journal Search Tool for Player and DM. A quick search tool to search through the campaign journal allows players and DM to quickly find information.
-End of Campaign Story Wrapup. This one is not essential but it would be cool if using AI you take the information from the features above and wrap the journal up in a storybook that memorializes the campaign that both players and DM can purchase if they want. Basically turning the campaign into a story the players and DM can read.
The goal of this Journal tool would be to aid in-person campaigns by keeping track of their progress thus far. It would allow the DM and players to have a central information location that doesn't distract from the in-person session and gives a quick reference, especially for campaigns that can't meet that frequently in session and have long lapses in time between sessions where players and DMs can forget/miss important information.
When a player creates a character in a campaign, it would be nice if there was a campaign character template with all the correct options chosen for things like encumbrance and ability score generation method. Additionally, it would be helpful for the DM to be able to turn off certain content, if they don't want those rules in their game (artificers, peace clerics, warforged, 2024 spells, etc.). That way players don't have to wade through so many bogus options.
Please god add an NPC creator option to add to the campaign. It helps in the maps and with the stories. There should be NPC tokens added as a function of purchasing the content on the website. It would be a huge add to the content the player is getting and it would be a motivator to me to officially purchase on dndbeyond seeing as it would make it a one-stop-shop situation
tbh there a lot of sections of ddb that for years remaining without improvement/development/implementing of users feedback
there is easier to full list what they do:
maps, trying to get more money from players via unpopular decisions
list over :-(

This. This modification along with an initiative tracker in the Maps feature keeps my gaming group completely in the D&D Beyond ecosysem.
