I just tested it - and it does completely remove the ability to view posts of the ignored person.
If the ignored person makes a thread - you can see the thread but the forum warns you it was made by someone you have ignored.
Edit: To find the ignore user feature - hover the mouse over the person's name on their post. A popup will appear with the option. It's probably not possible to do on mobile.

While this is true, there are some users that when you hover over the name do not present you with the option to Ignore. Short of moderators, I’d like to know why that is.

So I ignored a guy for over a year. But, anytime I posted they would post a response to my post. And it sends me a notification of it.
why would I want notifications of posts I cannot see, from someone I am trying to ignore?
can this bug be fixed.
IMO, it would be better if, when we ignored someone, that they not be able to see our posts anymore at all. That way they could never reply to us in the first place. Then there would be no need to do anything about the notifications system in that way.

Agreed. I just think the current ignore system is still buggy.

Issue with that is it encourage the "I'm going to get the last word and then block this person." Plus it can sometimes be helpful for others to have the input of someone the OP was ignoring. Having seen the implementation you're suggesting elsewhere, it tends to lead to block-abuse rather than improving user experience.
Plus the case where someone is stalking another user and going to their threads/posts to constantly rebut/belittle/etc things is already covered by reasonable site rules that prohibit harrassment.

Yeah, but if you can’t see their posts because you’ve ignored them, then you can’t read them and determine if you need to report them either. It enables people to talk whatever 💩 they want on someone who blocked them, and unless some third party individual(s) report them for you, then the Mods won’tcan't do anything about it.

I can assure you… 18 months of it. It does not.

I have said it before and I will keep saying it.
I’d love for there to be a feature, to where I can ignore, and never see posts or DMs from specific users.

There is an ignore user option. Not sure how it works (never used it).
It probably only blocks PMs and notifications of posts by that person. If it hid their posts, it might make threads hard to follow (but it might).

It was possible to do on mobile with some careful touch-swiping (to "hover" without clicking) and turning it sideways.

Really? Am I one of them?
The only people I've seen that can't be ignored are the Devs (Red name and border) and Moderators (Orange name). Everyone else has the option for me.

Not the same for me. For example, Snowraven_DM - no option to ignore them when I hover over. Not that I want to, just testing.

Weird, I can ignore them just fine ;-)
The ignore option shows up for me for everyone in this thread.
