so it says you can create a new character that has not been assigned is there a way to use ones you already made the same way or do you have to make them again?
not sure I can get all my players to use d&d beyond, any tips on what I may need to do if this is the case?
I was using a app for my campaign making for battles and everything but this last time one of the players pointed out that one of the monsters ac was wrong, this is probably because the app lets every user change thing and nothing is protected, so I thought Id switch to here, what should I expect or may have to deal with?
Wow, a couple easy questions and one big one. I’ll answer what I can.
Up at the top right corner of the “campaign” there is a blue link. Copy that link and then put it in the URL field and go, you should be asked to either make a new character, on select on of your existing characters to join.
The easiest way I have found to get my players on boarded here is to point out that if they join my campaign they can use all my books for free whenever they want from the comfort of their own phones because of the content sharing.
Customizing your monsters can be a bit tedious. The encounter builder and combat tracker are still cooking, so they aren’t quite fully functional yet but they’re working on it. Otherwise I’m not sure what all else to tell you.
If you are just starting here then 1 big thing will be having to buy the books (or just the options, or homebrew them yourself w/o publishing). All of the free options are available from the start, but that does not include everything in the PHB. Basically, if you had to buy a book to use it on paper, you have to buy it here to use it here.
You also have to buy a master subscription in order to share purchases (not everything has to be bought by the same person or DM. Once the person with the sub turns on content sharing everyone's purchases are shared regardless of who DM is).
The financial truth of this hobby and the fact that they can't redeem previously purchased books is the most common complaint of new users.
