when I share content into a beyond campaign, only the owner of the campaign can change the content I share.
I want to have a say in what content I share with others. As I realize that the DM wants to limit the content available to the group as well, would like to propose a 2 layer system:
1. I select what books I want to share with the group. 2. The DM can select from all books he owns and all books that are shared within the group what the group can see as shared.
I'm genuinely curious as to what use cases there would be for 'having a say' in what content you share within a campaign (when you're not a DM). I'm struggling to think of a situation to where it would be advantageous to share some but not all of your content with your DM?
I suppose if you own an adventure that you plan to run for the same group in a future campaign. But then again, if you can't trust your friends NOT to read something if you tell them you're going to run it next...

If you have published Adventures and don’t want those floating around for other members of your party to access for spoilers or Magic Items that do not belong in the campaign. Especially if you’re their DM in a different campaign.
I for one wish I could turn off sharing on my players’ homebrew collections. Some of them have stuff from other campaigns that I wish my players didn’t think they had access too.

Makes sense, something that I've never really thought about.
....If you're gonna make me feel so attacked, you should at least roll initiative first 😉
✋ Woah there. 🤚No attacks, just a question.
Sorry, that was a joke, but I didn't master the tone-by-text.
Yeah, I'm pretty much always a DM; I've played maybe 3 one-shots and 1 campaign in the 15 years I've been DM'ing, and that one campaign was at the release of the current edition of D&D (so five years ago)

So touchy, LOL! <joke> That's a good point about homebrew also. It would be handy to be able to block your players from using any homebrew (their own or public) and limit them to only homebrew stuff the DM has specifically created or approved for his campaign. "Easy" enough if a character is created through the campaign, but I have no idea how you'd do that for characters that are already made and just being added to a campaign. Flags on the "illegal" options maybe?

I might have to steal that! :P

my main issue is not being able to hide source books and bought adventures when I join campaigns. We have the situation that we GM in round-robbing fashion and I want to keep some of the content to myself for now.
I know, they could also buy it, but I want to avoid accidential views :) especially on monsters or items.
Currently, the source management doesn't restrict magic items or monsters from being viewable on character sheets anyway (it is planned, possibly for this year).
Personally, I don't see the problem with being able to read monster and item stats if you don't read the adventure they are found in. I would hope those responsible enough to DM are also capable of not metegaming when being a player (I own all the books, but have only read the adventures I planned to run. It isn't hard).

Same here. I went so far as to only read the Autumn sections of Dragon Heist, just in case someone else wanted to run Spring, Summer or Winter and I could still enjoy it.

my 2c.
Stay healthy!

Simply require by the DM that they be made in the campaign, or double checked by the DM for approval.

Frankly, the DM should just be able to turn off collections besides their own in a campaign and a red text alert would just pop up.
