I'm a player in a campaign where I maintain and supply the DnDBeyond content for the group. I find it frustrating that all DM tools are locked to me when I have no ways to utilize them or give my DM meaningful access to them without compromising my account. It would be great if we had roles that we could assign in a campaign. The way I see it, I pay a sub to allow 1 dm and x players access to the content. So what difference does it make if I get to assign control of those tools to the actual DM for use? This would be a greatly helpful option I believe.

Have the DM create the campaign and invite you to it. When you join, turn on content sharing. The person sharing content does not need to be the DM.

In addition to what ArwensDaughter stated, neither the DM, nor whomever owns the content needs to be the one who activates the content sharing.

Well now I just feel silly.
No need to feel silly; it's easy enough to miss.
