Those of us running PBP campaigns in your forums humbly request a little love.
There are a whole lot of us dedicated to playing PBP-only on DnDB forums, and I can attest to a huge unmet demand for more DMs and more PBP games in your threads. (Every time I put out a call for a new player, I get 30-40 eager responses.)
Some little things like... 1) Let DMs turn off the manipulated dice trigger in our own campaigns. Let us manipulate! (Or at least let us turn down its hair trigger when editing and re-editing posts as we do.) 2) Some general bug fixing in the forums: "Edit" button glitches, uneditable posts, "unable to parse" dice rolls, etc. 3) Aliasing within a campaign - instead of a user name, why not allow players to display their character's name instead? Some bigger things like... 4) a VTT and/or an image-posting system (using Imgur or whatever is awkward) And finally... 5) How about a nice article celebrating the PbP community...?
To piggyback off this post, what about adding custom code for OOC content? Something like
[ooc][/ooc]
to create divboxes where players can talk about their actions? Other forums like ENWorld and RPG.net have had this for a while.
You could just use the forum’s quote box button:
That would give you something like this to use for your OOC comments.
It's a good idea, but I'd much prefer something that's visually different from quote boxes as I sometimes quote others.
The quoting color is lighter than the quote function. If you look up at the posts I've quoted in this one, the box is a lighter blue than below, where I used the quote button.
I don't feel an urgent need for a special OOC box, but it'd be a nice option. On the other hand I'd love a spoiler box that can only be opened by people you specify. (Wouldn't need to be called a spoiler - maybe a different name?) So when somebody speaks in a language other than common, or when one character spots something the others do not, or when a telepath makes contact, you can specify who can read it...

Isn’t that what PMs are for?
That's what I do now, but it'd be nice to keep it in the thread. It's not exactly a high-priority tech request for me, but it would be a convenience. A lot of folks (myself included) have trouble NOT clicking that spoiler box to see what's underneath. As DM, I'd love to be able to lock it!
Higher priority for me would be the things I list at the top of this thread.
From what I can tell, most people post in the third person. I have no idea what the mechanics would be behind changing forum name to specific thread name over multiple threads.
For OOC: Most people use some form of header like OOC or ** or whatever
I don't know if it needs a special box or color. The color thing is a bad idea as many many people put their PC dialog in color.

As far as I can tell that's only for dialogue, which (from what I've seen) doesn't appear in boxes. Is there any way to break a quote box like above and retain the same header (e.g., "Quote from Username") with interspersed replies?
I suppose I can work with the blockquote box, though it could be a lighter shade of grey for dark-coloured text.

You could just use the forum’s quote box button:

I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
