No joke, l just rolled 15,15,15,18,16,17 for my half elf wizard. With racial mods, its 15 Str, 18 Dex, 16 Con, 18 Int, 15 Wis, 18 Chr!!! This is my strongest character ever, and they're only level one! This has to be the strongest wizard in existence! (in terms of the Str stat. Though at level 20, they will be very strong for other reasons)
Awesome, I wish I could have rolls like that but the dice hate me.
You can have mine. No guarantee the universe won't have fun at your expense, though.
I don't know what I did to offend the Dice Gods, but my luck with rolls is often more than a bit lacking. Let's see how I do. Praise Pythagoras and whatnot.
No, no, no. If the writer insists on being disruptive, ignore the writer. If that doesn't work, try to prevent it. I think posting something to someone who you know can't even see it counts as disruptive, also. On a side note to everyone else, what would Vince's posts be categorized as for the purpose of reporting?
Doesn't Contribute to the Discussion, probably.
Doesn't Contribute to the Discussion, Off Topic; hell, with how disruptive it's been it might even count as Trolling at this point
More on topic to what the thread is supposed to be, I'm going to roll randomly here and see if the dice gives me another freakin' poker hand: Ability scores: 121513161111.
EDIT: See, this is what I'm talking about when I roll. Just change that last 11 to a 14, and that accurately sums up what happens most every time I roll.
Mathematically impossible.
The values as written total 78. You are saying your numbers are 3 points better than that "most every time you roll", pushing that to 81. Expected value of roll 4d6, drop lowest is 12.24, or 73.44 across 6 numbers. 78 is pretty much one standard deviation higher than 73.44. 81 is way over two standard deviations above the average.
Sorry, anecdotes don't beat actual math. But thank you for once again proving why players are so desperate to avoid using fixed arrays, or a point system that curtails ridiculously unlikely sets of numbers.

🤣
That 5 is gonna hurt.
I’d play a caster and dump strength personally.

Vince, you know that "impossible" literally means "can never happen under any circumstance", right? "Improbable" is probably the word you are looking for. Rolling, by definition, will cause examples where people regularly get high rolls for their characters' stats. It is improbable to happen, but with the sheer amount of people that use the 4d6 drop the lowest system or rolling, it is statistically bound to happen.
"Mathematically impossible" is rolling 19 19 19 19 19 19 using 4d6 drop the lowest (before racial ASIs). "Mathematically improbable" is getting noticeably high rolls most (if not all) of the time.

Fighter and dump wisdom. You’ll fail saves and get charmed all the time, but it will be a lot of fun.
That's not entirely dissimilar to my artificer's array, honestly. Star's numbers are higher overall, but Int followed by Dex/Con and lolno levels of Wisdom. It's worked well. Star and Cynai have taught me to love the 6.

The guy said "Just change that last 11 to a 14, and that accurately sums up what happens most every time I roll". Given that he is at least 2 standard deviations away from the average with a total point value of 81, he would have to be the luckiest person to ever live to get numbers like that "most every time he rolled." Statisticians just roll their eyes when people say that. Casino's ban people like that. It is impossible to consistently beat the average. That is how probability distribution works.

I’m down to roll the dice!
Ability scores: 9 17 15 14 7 15
"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Characters for Tenebris Sine Fine
RoughCoronet's Greater Wills
Pretty nice. Depending on the character, I'd be tempted to bump either a 15 or or the 13 to something lower, but that's a pretty good spread.

That or very unlikely.
I'm going to roll again, this time to see if I get anything that isn't likely to be the combination on an idiot's luggage: Ability scores: 16 17 8 17 8 5
EDIT: Whelp, I got what I asked for...

Low wisdom characters are fun.
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
They certainly are. I love leaning into the naivete of my sweet summer child of a dragonborn...
