I absolutely love Thunder Step. This spells has always been consistently helpful dealing great damage, getting me out of tight situations, and even aiding in getting overwhelmed allies and NPC's out of harm's way.
It's fun flavor, low level so sees frequent use, and it does AOE, consistent low damage, potentially causes foes to use their action to clean! Just seems like a lot of underrated bang for buck.
It's simple, but thunderous smite is a lot of fun for me. I just love how unsubtle it is, crashing thunder booming around as you smack an enemy with your attack and (assuming they fail the save) throw them back on their ass.
Phantasmal Force isn't one I've gotten to play with but it sounds like a lot of fun in the hands of a creative caster.
Min is Melf's minute meteors. Level five and your summoning extra-terrestial objects

There are more powerful spells, and there are more generally useful spells, but the one that gives me the most enjoyment when it works as intended is Enemies Abound. Conceptually it's just so much fun, and the 120ft range gives you a good chance to cast it undetected. If you spot an enemy force that includes something big, tough and dumb like an Ogre or Hill Giant, it can be especially awesome :)
Of the spells I've gotten to use I'd say life transference... It's just really cool to sacrifice your health for others... I would've said secret chest.. but it's so expensive I havent been able to cast it yet despite having had it for a good while now :(..
Of spells I hope to use some day I think Demi plane is the coolest.. having your personal tiny realm for you to decorate and play around with is so cool...
The one I probably find my characters casting (or wishing they had) most often is Prestidigitation. (It’s like the D&D spell version of Frank’s Red Hot Hot Sauce.)
Ray of Frost, and Thorn Whip are great combat cantrips, but no lie, nothing beats when your 7th-level Bard/Divine Soul Sorc is surrounded by bandits (I mean, totally surrounded) and pops off his Michael Jackson style left hand up, right hand junk grabbing “Hee Hee!!” as the V component for word of radiance and you spike exactly 11 on the 2d6… and they all fail the saving throw…. 😎 (MasterCard can’t buy that.)
5e has so many cool spells that it is hard to pick a favorite. So what's yours?
(it can be for helpfulness, coolness, or plain being silly)
Lover of pugs, dinos, dragons, and chickens
FEAR AND LOVE ME MORTALS!
Leader of the cult of bwba (barbarians with big axes)
I absolutely love Thunder Step. This spells has always been consistently helpful dealing great damage, getting me out of tight situations, and even aiding in getting overwhelmed allies and NPC's out of harm's way.
"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Characters for Tenebris Sine Fine
RoughCoronet's Greater Wills
I really like Tasha's Caustic Brew!

I think Steel Wind Strike is the coolest spell in 5E.
Canto alla vita
alla sua bellezza
ad ogni sua ferita
ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty
To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!
I've probably gotta say blade of disaster. It's a magical rip in the multiverse in the shape of a floating sword. What's there not to love?
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

I'm a big fan of Spike Growth. I'm a bit biased since my first character ever was a ranger with this spell prepared

Pretty fond of Moonbeam, it's the first real zone denial spell.
I love stone shape. It's endlessly useful, and can completely screw with a DM's plans when you just make your own door.
I love Guardian of Nature (Great Tree) on my Druid.
Cure Wounds. What a classic.
Wizard (Gandalf) of the Tolkien Club
Scatter - it can really change up the shape of a combat - either by moving enemies - or moving allies - or both.

Chaos bolt. I love the randomness of it. I had one bounce 3 times in my Wednesday game. Awesome fun.
Besides Wish, my favorite would be Vicious Mockery. Killing things with yo-mama jokes and profanity is fun.

There are so many fun ones, but it has to be imprisonment for me.
I second there being too many spells to choose a favorite! scatter is cool, as are steel wind strike and wall of force.
I am an average mathematics enjoyer.
