I might have missed it but is there a way to turn physical copies into shareable digital? Like maybe scanning thier barcodes or something similar? I have the starter set: Dungeon Master's Guide, Players Handbook, and Monsters Manual. (I'm a newbie and didn't know about D&D Beyond when I bought them) I'd like to avoid rebuying them if possible so I can buy some of the digitals I don't have already.

No. This thread explains why. If you want to express your opinion about that, please do so in that thread and not this one, as I do not want debates about the pricing structure happening here.
If you read through the first post of this thread (the one we are in now), however, you will see some of your options. You don't even have to read the whole thing word for word. The bolded sentences are designed to help you skim the post (which is admittedly a wall of text). You only need to read in detail those sections that come closest to how you want to use DDB.
Depending on how you want to use DDB and the amount of time you have, you have a number of options beyond just buying entire sources/"books" here. For example, purchasing the DMG (Dungeon Master's Guide) here would be a pretty low priority for me, since I have access to the printed version. The primary things of interest (to me) from the DMG to have here would be the magic items, which can be purchased as a bundle, or individually. Actually, you can do both: buy individual items as you need them until the price for the bundle is under $3.98(US) and then pick up the bundle. [The minimum charge in the DDB store is $1.99, so you want to shift from individual purchases to buying the rest of the bundle before the bundle price drops below $1.99] I was gifted the DMG here, thus the conditional mood above (the "woulds"). But this is precisely what I did with the Monster Manual: I bought monsters individually as I needed them, and then finished out the bundle when that price was only a few dollars. During one of the sales I finally picked up the rest of the "book" because it was inexpensive.
If you have a lot of time and the inclination, you can also homebrew things. Early on, my rule was that if I was creating a character for an actual game, I would buy what was needed for that character (race, subclass, etc.). If I was just "theorycrafting" a character, I would homebrew what I needed for it.
If, after reading the first post, you still aren't sure what the best options are for what you want, feel free to post here with more information about how you are wanting to use DDB, and I and/or someone else can make some suggestions for you.
If I get the sourcebook bundle, then later decide to get the legendary bundle, will the books I already got through the sourcebook bundle discount from the legendary bundle?
If I get the sourcebook bundle, then later decide to get the legendary bundle, will the books I already got through the sourcebook bundle discount from the legendary bundle?
Any money you spent on the sourcebook bundle will reduce the cost of the legendary bundle by that amount. I'm going to round the numbers to make it easier. If the sourcebook bundle is $400 and the legendary bundle is $800, buying the sourcebook bundle at regular price reduces the LB cost to $400. If there is a 25% off sale on bundles, and you pick up the sourcebook bundle for only $300, the cost of the legendary bundle is reduced by $300, to $500.
Keep in mind that the cost of the legendary bundle bundle goes up each time a sourcebook is added to it. So if the legendary bundle price goes up to $825, you are still only credited the $400 (or $300) you spent on the sourcebook bundle.
I'll be honest - D&D Beyond confuses me. There is no instruction manual, wiki or help files - only a FAQ that does not direct step-by-step how to use the site.
Three questions: 1. How do I filter and sort results by the titles of books only I own? Not all books, just the one I want to view.
2. How do I get to the location of the digital dice roller?
3. The Van Richter's Guide said it came with a pre-order bonus. What was/is that?

1.If you want to really just sort your books I recommend getting the APP. The website does not have a future to sort owned vs not owned. In the APP you go to Library at the bottom and then to own. You can also download your books to a device so you can read them even offline.
2. There is no free-standing dice roller. You need to open the encounter builder or a character to use the dice roller. Personally, I would love to see a link under my dice that I can do out-of-game DM stuff without having all the extra steps.
3. The Dice can be found in the collections tab at the top of the website. Look under Collections... My Dice... Memento Mori. The Character sheet stuff requires you need to open a character. Next, go to the character's name look for the little cog that is your options menu. A window will open that gives you a bunch of options from frames, backdrops, and themes.
Have a nice day.

I have physical copy of DnD Player's Handbook. Do I need to purchase another copy on the dndbeyond to be able to use in the app?
Yes, you need to make another purchase. Physical books and digital books are completely separate products, just like how you would need to buy most physical books and ebooks separately. Buying physical Harry Potter books off of Amazon does not mean Amazon is going to give you the ebook version of it, and the same principle applies here.
If you just want to read the book in a digital format, you can save some money and just purchase the compendium content. If you want actual data integration of the book with the digital tools, you will need to buy the full book.
If you do not want to spend money but are willing to spend time, you can integrate the information from the physical books into the digital tools by manually typing in the information from your physical books into Beyond via homebrew tools. This is a tedious process though.
If you do not need full data integration, you can also just buy certain things piecemeal. For example, if you just want the subclasses but do not care about the items nor monsters, you can just buy the specific subclasses.
I am considering signing up for the Master Tier. I own one of the bundles and a few of the books. I’ve created character sheets for my players (I’m the DM). What would my players need to be able to edit/access/take over the character sheets and access the content I’ve purchased? Currently when I send them the link generated, they can see what I’ve sent but they do not have the ability to edit it.
There is some concern with signing up through Google/Apple to create an account by one of the players. He’s very conscious about info sharing between companies. Is there another way for him to set up an account without sharing that information?

They currently don't have the ability to edit the sheets because they aren't their sheets, they are your sheets. To given them access to their sheets, you would do as follows:
-create a campaign here on DDB (Collections>My Campaigns)
-Add the characters to the campaign (copy the invitation link by clicking "copy link" near the invite link, and paste this link in the url bar of your browser, hit return, then choose character to add to campaign; repeat until all are added)
-Unassign these characters (on the campaign page his the "unassign" button under the character
-Send the players the invitation link, and tell them who gets which character
-Players click on link, look for the "claim unassigned character" section of the page that opens and claims their character. Note that players do need a DDB account to do this.
If you do get the Master Tier, you also will want to turn on Content Sharing on the campaign page, so players have access to your content for your characters. If you don't, they will still have access to content you already added to their sheets, even if it is paid content, but they won't be able to add new content. (And I'm not clear if they would have access to fulls pell descriptions for paid spells and the like.)
-Add the characters to the campaign (copy the invitation link by clicking "copy link" near the invite link, and paste this link in the url bar of your browser, hit return, then choose character to add to campaign; repeat until all are added)
I don’t see the option to add the character to the campaign.
-Disregard; I was going through the character portal, not the campaign one. Got it.
I have a lot of the source books and wanted to finish off and get the rest. If I were to get the sourcebook bundle it would cost more than me buying them separately. Am I missing anything?

You used discounts to purchase your current books. When you make a purchase, the amount that you actually paid for is the amount that gets discounted off the bundle.
For example, if the bundle is $100, and the book you want to buy is $10, if you did not use any discounts and bought the book, the bundle price will drop to $90. On the other hand, if you used a discount to purchase the book, and you bought the book for $5, then the bundle will drop to $95. If you bought all the books individually in the bundle with a 50% discount, the bundle will still cost you $50; while you do not unlock content from buying that bundle since you already own all the books in it, you do unlock future discounts.
If you want to complete your collection with the new unreleased books but you do not care about pre order perks, I recommend saving your money and wait for Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday or Christmas, since those two holidays are most likely to have discounts for bundles.
If you do care about the preorder perks, then I recommend waiting for a sale to come up before you place your preorder. A lot of people are impulsive and impatient so they immediately place a preorder, but then they complain about paying too much money when a sale pops up between the preorder date and release date. While Beyond seems pretty nice about retroactively applying the sales price to preorder purchases in the past, I am not sure if they still do that and I definitely would not count on that to continue indefinitely. I strongly recommend waiting for a sales pop up and then place your preorder, and even if a sale does not pop up, you can still preorder stuff at the last minute (about a day or two before the release date, you do not want to wait until the literal last minute in case something happens to your computer or internet connection) to get the preorder perks. And then once the holidays come around, you can purchase the rest of the bundle as mentioned above.
If you already own the books on dndbeyond the price of the bundle will be discounted by the amount you paid for the books you own in the bundle.
Very helpful.
I’m not familiar with the item you are asking about. This is best asked in a post of its own, with a little more info.

Thank you @masterwitchpoly. The APP is just the app, not an acronym?
Yes - just the D&D Beyond app from the Google or Apple app stores.
This is the page here on D&D Beyond that will give you both apple and android apps depending on what you need.
