Rules as Written in Players Handbook sorcerers can use sorcerer points to create additional spell slots. How can you do this on DND Beyond to create more 'temporary' spell slots then you normally have
Use the - button on the feature tab of your sheet to mark them as spent
Then uncheck the appropriate box on the spells tab

There isn't a way to denote slots above maximum. You can create a custom magic item or feat with charges simply to track them.
