I'll play Descent into Avernus next month, but my DM always blocks this crazy races like Aarakocra. He says that race has to exist there to make sense
So, with crazy races are there in baldurs gate? or close enough to me use as my carachter? I didint chose class yet, but im looking for something different as race
Pretty much anybody could conceivably be found there, but if you're asking about communities... You might see some kobolds living in the sewers, and I think the only reason we don't see genasi mentioned anywhere is that nobody ever thinks about them when writing these books lol. They seem like they'd fit in. Tabaxi immigrants from Chult seem likely, since the Flaming Fist has commerce there and tabaxis like to explore. There are aarakocra in Chult too, but they don't seem like the type to integrate into a foreign culture imo.
That's about it, I'd say. Any of the others would basically be oddities, probably being the only members of their species in the city.
I think there's plenty of reasons to ban Aarakocra, but not being found in the Sword Coast isn't necessarily one of them. That said... yes, they are native to the Plane of Air and there are very few of them on the Material Plane, but it's not unreasonable to find an Aarakocra adventurer in Baldur's Gate (where the story begins), especially because Baldur's Gate is a major trade city with people from different countries and far-off lands reasonably found within the city... compare it to something like New York, which is known for its diversity of cultures.
Of the PHB races, the ones that are called out as being particularly uncommon are Tieflings, Dragonborn, and Half-Orcs.
Races that exist in the nearby area of land but would be rare and unique would be something like any of the Goblinoid races (goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears). As a seaside town you could also include Tritons or Tortles, maybe a Sea Elf.
One rare race that might have a lot of story potential would be to play as an Aasimar. They're not really limited in where and when they could appear... although it could make the game more challenging, as I imagine showing up in Hell with the blood of celestials in your veins is probably a quick way to put a huge target on your back.
Genasi are rare but found everywhere in Faerun, I believe there is an Aaracokra “nest” in the star mounts in the high forest not too far away. there is also supposed to be a village of winged elves somewhere in the star mounts as well. Centaurs and Gith are other rare but potential races that could turn up in Baldur’s Gate. Baldur’s Gate, like Waterdeep and a few other cities is large and diverse enough to potentially have almost any species of adventurer show up at least rarely.
What folks tell you on this board isn't going to stop your DM from saying the race doesn't exist or isn't plausible in their game's Baldur's Gate. So rather than the forum cataloguing what they'd conceive as fair game for PC race selection, it's probably going to save you further disappointment and lead to productive character generation if you simply ask the DM, '"Ok, what races would you allow in your game?" Any race could be narrated to happen upon Baldur's Gate, but it sounds like your DM has limitations that want to enforce. It's better to discuss that boundary with them than brainstorm end runs here.

This. Ask your DM, not the internet.
Or look over the list and find one you like. Then ask if that one is allowed, and if not, ask if you can try to come up with a reason why your character is there. There doesn’t have to be a whole racial community, you can just be a traveler from far away. If you can generate a good enough reason why your character is there, many DMs will let you run with it.

From the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist book, which is completely set in Waterdeep / Sword Coast:
Apprentice Wizard

Griffon Cavalry Rider

So your answer is any humanoid race.
