I did about year ago, pretty much lost my interest in any new d&d product with release of Strixhaven, and every new release in '22 was just a massive disappointment so I have no regrets.
But I'm tempted to subscribe again just to unsub immediately.

Probably not a good idea to resub and unsub. It might create an unintentional uptick, even if for a bit. Also, best not just give your money to them if you plan this as you still will be fully charged with no refund.
Apologies for not fully reading the purpose of the thread, I’ve edited my post.
My groups and I will be taking a hiatus from D&D for the next couple years anyway (just canceled my GM membership) to explore other alternatives. May this dark portent be but a nightmare that fades with the dawn, and if not may fortune favor you and your party in the years to come, wherever your path may take you!

As a fellow DM, I understand how big a deal it is to unsub. I hope you and your party find what makes all of you happy, and keep on having fun. I'll update this poll opener soon to reflect the new "update" on the GSL2.0 being posted.
Well, just downloaded all my Characters as PDFs and unsubbed. Ironic that WotC bought dndbeyond for all the great metrics and now this one is going to tell them how poor of a decision they are going to make if they release OGL 1.1 leaked version - as restrictive and not open as it is in that form - and try to revoke OGL 1.0a.
Now that Wizards of the Coast has ceded to everyone's demands and apologized for their actions, how many of you are going to resubscribe?
The sincerity of their regretful outpouring and overwhelming truthfulness of their promises of good intentions have won me over.............
*Charm Person duration expires*
Oh wait know I'd sooner stick my head in a hydras mouth than take their "word" for anything, they can deliver a new hard copy for us to judge or affirm 1.0a as actually irrevocable you know like you did a few years back. I wonder were they lying then or just from now.
"A couple of last thoughts. First, we won’t be able to release the new OGL today, because we need to make sure we get it right, but it is coming. Second, you’re going to hear people say that they won, and we lost because making your voices heard forced us to change our plans. Those people will only be half right. They won—and so did we."
That line in their response made me laugh and not want to resub.
Sad to see corporate greed wreck a community I love.
my comment:
The OGL change, even what I’ve heard of the updated one, goes against how we, as a community operate. It’s possible to profit from DND without betraying our principles. Prove that you won’t take advantage of content creators that acted in good faith and I’ll sign up again. Until then, I won’t buy WOTC products and my group will likely be moving to another system when my annual expires.
The real question is whether they will have a sale on new subscriptions to draw people back or whether they will try to punish people for unsubscribing by jacking the prices up!
I think I'm waiting. It was a huge misstep on the part of WoTC and Hasbro, but until things are finalized I don't want to lose my stuff because I judged to quickly. I'm going to still play D&D, even if the new OGL turns out to be as bad as the leaked one. I just love the game, and it's what me and my players are comfortable with.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I think when I've paid through paypal in the past and canceled within the same day I got a refund. But you're right, I'm not going to give a penny. WotC are dead to me now :)
Having been in a past financial situation where I was cutting costs briefly, so I had to do this once (Before all of the craziness) Yes, you will be free to choose which characters are "Active". All inactive characters are untouchable until they are made active again by either resubbing or trading them out with a currently active sheet. Unless this was changed in the last few days (I haven't checked and my sub is still running until the end of the month) you should be ok to run like this for a while. Best of luck, friend.
On an annual master membership that's not due again til August. I have submitted my cancellation, and I have the time required to transition my players to something else if it comes to that. I hope the message I left in my cancellation will give them pause for reconsideration as I prefer to offer a carrot, along with using the stick. As a customer I represent their highest tier of membership, along with owning just about every book on dndbeyond they offer. (think I've skipped the Rick and Morty adventure and that's about it). So I'm about as big a whale as they have on this site, and I'm fully ready to swim to warmer seas.
My cancellation message:
I will re-up my subscription when WotC decides to leave OGL 1.0 in place with ZERO alterations. I am already beginning discussions with my players on whether or not we should switch systems, and I will be suspending any further purchases of any new source books until WotC apologizes and announces they will not be pursuing ANY updates to the OGL.

Much less bias poll than others.

I didn't have a subscription, so submitted a request to delete my account.
Do we have numbers on the poll? I see % of respondants, but total number is necessary to get a full view of this.
I've unsubbed from my Master Tier subscription, this despicable move by WotC is unacceptable and I will not support them financially ever again

I did it yesterday when the cancelled the 3pm live stream and then put up a BS cancellation notice at 3:20.

I just unsubbed, prob won't come back unless there is leadership change with WOTC and a bullet proof OGL so this doesn't keep happening.
