Interesting idea, something in the area of pod people? Wait is there a pod people creature in any of the dnd books?
The Ravenloft book has a monster called a Bodytaker Plant that eats creatures and turns them into copies called Podlings!
Oh yes yes yes

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I think this might be an AD&D monster and I'm not sure if it's made into 5e or subsequent editions. I don't think it's an ooze, but there's sort of carnivorous/parasitic vine like thing that may have played a chicken and egg game with what they're singing about in Metallica's "Creeping Death." I can't remember its name, but I want to say it sort of riffs on kudzu, but it's obviously not kudzu. Does that ring a bell to anyone?
Bonus, reskin it red and you have the Red Weed from War of the Worlds.

I mean didn't ask about that specifically, but I could definitely see making something usable from that.

Hag and Ettercap are the only two that come to my mind. Hags and Ettercaps pollute and plague the surrounding environments, corrupting all life, and any life that cannot be corrupted slowly dies. Those two are blights wherever found.

Interesting you mention those, because I have been considering using Ravnicans as an invading force. I have been trying to decide if I want to go with more generic invasive creatures, or a more organized infiltration from a handful of the guilds into a fey wild area.

So for some background I am planning for something invading into a portion of the Feywild, called Candyland. Oh yes, that Candyland. Wondering if something that is a voracious eater would also be something worth considering. Maybe even like a Mouth of Grolanthor Hill Giant, but Gibbering mouther would have extra weirdness from eating candy people, probably Taffy like,

Look up in the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravinca.
Pg. 203 "Flying Horror"
Pg. 205 "Shadow Horror" and "Skittering Horror"
Pg. 211 "Category 2 Krasis"
Pg. 213 "Kraul Warrior" and Kraul Death Priest
Anyone of those, you could flavor as an invasive creature.
Enjoy your slop. I'll be enjoying good products elsewhere.
