For those wondering, you can buy larger than normal sized dice (amazon has one that is just shy of 2 1/2 inches in diameter -- 55mm). You can also buy dice the size of a beach ball.
Or assorted other sizes.

As for why I don't use them, I play remotely. My days of actual dice rolling seem to be on hiatus. Someday!
digital dice for me belong in purely digital board games llike where the game decides what you can do etc so catan, cluedo ettc or crpgs for d&d etc and physical boarfd games rolling is part of the fun heck in ludo and snakes and ladders and race to the end games or other probabilty it's 50% of the fun and in yatzee and poker dice the rolling IS the game
I think with digital dice you do get the advantage of a tracker system (e.g 2d6=9 +mod bonus) if it's implemented but the randomness iks somewhat psuedo random as all odds being set equal on a computer may be interprated as ok in 5 rolls time we need a 4
I have a set of big (4.5 inch diameter) foam D&D dice that get used fairly regularly. We have folks in my group who are new parents and who cannot really leave their babies for 4-5 hours to go play a game, and using the big, soft dice provide an opportunity to bring the child into the game. Players will hand a baby the die and the baby will roll the die on the players’ behalf. All part of the plan to indoctrinate the next generation of D&D players!
I have a D20 about the size of a ping pong ball that I like to use from time to time mostly for rolls related to flavor during roll play. I like "standard" sized for combat.
The "wait how big" option just reminded me how much I want one of those solid copper 2 inch D20's, maybe 2 LOL.

I have a big pewter D20- bigger than a golf ball. I don't use it much because it's heavy enough that it could potentially damage the surface it's rolled on, it's that heavy.
Also, because I haven't played an in-person game in years, all my dice rolling is digital these days.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
If you really want to get into novel die rolling, try tossing about a necklace. I have. Surprisingly, doesn't work so well.
I wonder if there'd be a market for dice on those cool contraptions with the bunches of circles that are connected to one another by axles. Not sure if you'd really be able to roll them or if they'd be practical on a necklace, but it could be a cool thing to have around.
Edit: the things I'm talking about are called Armillary Spheres, and I'm not sure if they work how I'm imagining them.
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.

my main is a 35mm Chessex. Not GIANT...but definitely bigger than average. it's easy to grab quickly, been with me forever, and only utterly fails me about 50% of the time. Gotta love those odds.
I am a huge fan of the Avalore sets from Die Hard Dice. They aren't huge, a little larger than normal, but feel a little more substantial than traditionally sized dice and roll smoothly. I definitely recommend checking them out, especially if you like a slightly larger size without going in to Sportsball™ sized territory. (Just to be clear: I am not affiliated with them in anyway, just a big, big fan.)

Because I have a LOT of dice, lol. Only two "big" dice, though -- a pair of wooden d6s.
I don't count my old style d100 golfball as a big die.

i started 3 weeks ago so far i have 4 full sets (my campaign is made up of the one shot encounters from a new uk mag called d&d adventurers i bought 2 copies of issue 1 just for dice issue 2 h ad dice and i bought dide too)
I'm not a die hard dice gobin, myself, but I have sets and dice dating back to 1980, so just time has added onto mine.
I have about 30 sets of dice, with some specialty dice (d100's, d60's). Among the sets are five full sets of d4, d6, d8, 2d10, d12, d14, d16, d18, d20, d22, d24, d26, d28, and d30.
Those are all "newer", but weren't possible to find in the 80's. I have a few of the metal dice (because metal die, lol), and my primary box of them is set up to have the ten sets I use in general gaming (the rest are tucked away).
I get teased because I "have a die for any kind of table" and I shake my head, since I don't have dice that are often close to possible only through digital tools. I want a d33. It is the only odd sided die I want, lol.
There are, however dice out there that are odd sided as well -- I am pretty sure I have a couple of d7s and d15s. You can get a die for every number between 2 and 21 fairly easily. After 30, there is 36, 48, 50, 60, and 100.

i'm fine with just d4,d6,d8,d10,d12,d20 and percentile i do also like mtg d20 life counters and mtg d6 tokens though and when a board game has a speed dice or other d6 variant thats good oh and poker dice d6s even thoough i have never played poker dice(i think its just a yatzee variant?) i don't get why blank d6 with stickers are common in kids gane thoigh seems odd
As for d4s i'm undecided weather top or bottom roll are best
Just for one person who never missed and never failed a save. The large D20 was presented to him as a "I know what you're doing". Everyone else knew as well, but this not so subtly called him out. He used it for a while until he realized why.

I was gifted a fist-sized one, but it's yet to see use. I don't know if we're ready to wield such girth.
