ya Ive been dying to know hat they did to monk . im hoping they didn't get renerfed like Rangers
As Psy mentioned on the previous page here, it is unlikely that the monks got nerfed given the overwhelmingly positive response to the proposed changes on the monk class, which enjoyed one of the worst, if not the worst approval rating out of the 2014 rules.
Also, how are the rangers nerfed in your opinion? It seems like they received a buff to me.
alot of their features got tied to hunters mark so they can't focus on other spells. also gloom stalker lost extra attacks and damage on the first turn and instead got a per use ability .

Is that necessarily a nerf for either though? Regarding the Hunter's Mark point, the class is tied more strongly to a signature feature, but is a barbarian nerfed for having features tied to their rage? As for gloom stalker, it seems to me that more consistent, reliable damage that you can choose to apply as needed is better than only a bonus to damage made on the first turn of the entire combat. I'm not trying to be snide or anything, this is my genuine feeling on the changes.
Is there a reason you prefer to have a bonus that hinges entirely on attacking the first round of each combat over being able to apply bonus damage a few times a day? In live play, do you find yourself having several battles that would frequently eclipse how many you would have available in a day in the updated rules? Gloom stalker does get growing damage as you level too, and at level 11, you get a secondary feature which allows extra attacks. I'm just not understanding how it is a nerf. From my perspective, both are buffs, just buffs that change the way the class and subclass work a bit.
Um... A big point in my opinion is judging the mark ruins hunter is kinda crazy we don't know what spells Ranger gets and what changes they made a point in saying "a lot of spells tagged Concentration were changed to not need em and some vice versa" so maybe most Ranger Spells don't... Prevent you from casting Mark and that spell?

Is there anything known yet about species and the backwards compatibility of races from 2014 5e, specifically races from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse?

I say wait for species to be revealed so we know how to edit old ones for 5.5
backwards compatability works like this. If yu want to play 2024 you use the 2024 rulebooks, and anythng that hasnt been rewritten is still viable, I can play a 2024 paladin and use a previous subclass not inthe 2024 PHB. I cannnot and SHOULDNOT use a 214 paladin and then add wepoanmastery ewtc form 2024 PHB. If somehting has bene rewritten has bene been rewritten for a reason, USUALLY game balance etc. Use the new feats, but if you see an old feat thats not in the new books, that should an otion, use the new spells, but old spells are compatible if they dont have new cersions in the 2024 PHB. etc.. i hope this helps

Has the Monk video been released yet?
Yep. It's live right now but you'll be able to watch it in its entirety later today.
All vids come out 12pm EST
Thank you!
I want for there to be more videos, in this series, after July 12th!
I hope we get to see species I seen what 1 vid (pointy hat) talk about the new rules for Teifling but no one else talked about other 9 species

Do you think next week we'll get species spoilers I only seen 1 person talk about em
Am I tripping? Do we not have a
LIVEpremiere video today? :vEDIT, NVM
I found the vid really boring really you can't spend 20 mins discussing all 10 dragon colors? It was just a 6 minute ad to preorder
Do we know if there are more videos coming on species, weapons, more on spells, etc?
I feel not talking about species is crazy when we seen vids on backgrounds, classes, feats weapon mastery and spells
