Yeah, in case it's not obvious, being able to do it as either an action or as a bonus action means that you're never prevented from doing it and some other thing in the same turn. For instance, if you could only do it as a bonus action, you couldn't do that and cast Hunter's Mark on the same turn; if you could only do it as an Attack action, you couldn't do that and cast Entangle on the same turn.
My question is about the 2024 Beast Master Ranger Subclass. The stat blocks for the different beast types only show one type of attack. The Beast Strike, which requires the Ranger character to give up one of their attacks. Was there supposed to be a basic attack in the stat block for a bonus action attack, or is the creature not useful in combat until at least level 5? Or is this more what kind of creature your Beast is based off of. Like a beast of the land that looks like a wolf, would use the wolf's attacks?
