Here's what's not clear from the text associated with the 'submit' button: it is not clear from the text that you will be unable to delete the item if it is submitted and accepted. Please consider adding that warning. If I'd known that when I started experimenting with the system, I would not submitted the item.
There is a link to the full homebrew rules on that dialog with the submit button.
It is funny that homebrew can't be updated when we get updates in books all the time. Also, wizards have removed entire books with no real problem as they updated the monsters in new books. At this point, we are punished for sharing with others by having junk homebrew filling out homebrew and the community has to sort through mountings of bad homebrew. Wizards would never allow that to stay in their books why is it a benefit to the community to keep all the trash?

Best you can do is submit a Report (type of Other), and ask them to delete it.
I thought I had a feat done proper and hit submit. I should have double checked. So, I submitted a report so that they can delete it.
I do feel they should go through once a year and unpublish homebrews that have either 0 or 1 adds as a way to tidy up the collection, as unpublishing won't remove them from the list of those that created them, as far as I know.

Updates by Wizards of the Coast are handled by the dev and content teams themselves, tested to ensure no disruption and states made so if something goes wrong data can be rolled back. The same would not be true of the thousands of users producing millions of homebrew entries.
As for 'removed entire books', those legacy options are still available to those that own them and have not been removed from the system.

Do not do this. This is report abuse and a violation of site rules
It was mostly just annoying for me because I created a home brew Slaadi race, then recreated it, and the old version is still in my Homebrew Creations page and it’s very confusing
Trying to experiment with my first homebrew item, I created and submitted a magic item that has a joke title, has no features or content. Under description i wrote "none of your beeswax". My intention was to them edit it and create the item i actually wanted
It was, of course, approved and now will clutter the servers and appear on people's item searches, and in my personal content, until the end of civilization.
I think this has been thoroughly explained. Nobody will ever use this blatant error. The idea that someone may have used this is ludicrous. Can we please just get rid of it.

Unless people are randomly searching for "beeswax" I don't see how that item will come up for them. I'd support a hide feature for your personal content though.

Ahh. One of the many, many reasons I strongly urge people to not publish their homebrews until they are 1,000% sure that all playtesting and editing have been completed.

This is why I recommend never homebrewing anything and sharing it on D&D beyond. You lose all control of your creations and no one but the bravest of adventures will wade through all the junk to find the gems. It is just easier to always start from a premade monster and adjust as needed.

Yes, please allow the deletion of homebrews that no one is subscibed to!
I submitted a couple before I knew what I was doing and now I want to delete them. No one else has even looked at them so it wouldn't affect anyone else.
i know this is a necro, but i would like to say that i agree that we should be able to delete published homebrew. i made a thunderbird statblock, and thinking it was some old mythology thing, made it chaotic evil and thought "oh thats a nice twist on it!" i was alerted by a friend only after i published it that the thunderbird is actually a native american thing, and i felt pretty bad for making such a vilifying change to it, so i want to delete the statblock, but i cant.
Ngl it would be nice if you could at least edit a submitted homebrew at least that way it doesn't take away from those who are using it and lets the person who made it fix any and all mistakes.
A main issue would be spelling errors or final fixes that weren't sorted before submitting, so just being able to edit those things would sort out all the issues and make it better for anyone that decides to use it.
I'm sure this has been a thing to look into but its still causing issues today..
Kind regards, Ch1cken.

No, once something has been published it can no longer be deleted. It will remain in publick homebrew indefinitely.

This is disappointing to hear we can’t delete published homebrew content.
Well here we are 4 years later.
