For the folks who might not pay as much attention to the front page articles, here's our full roadmap for the year, including first-party products (that's us), third-party products, DDB updates, and events (so far)! We know everyone's been very curious what Wizards is releasing this year, and the wait to know is finally over.
It's definitely a light schedule for first part releases, especially if you want adventures, but I'm very happy to see a new Ravonloft book. Interesting to see as well a couple of extra third party books, the dinosaur one in particular was one I was interested in getting at one point
Also the Q2 Partner Release link at the bottom of the page leads to the Q1 announcement
I hope Arcana Unleashed is a preview of the shape of things to come—I like the idea of a slightly smaller/cheaper source book paired with a noticeably smaller/cheaper adventure is a good way to go. Smaller and more affordable adventures split from the player options feels like a good way to make the game even more accessible
I’ll be very interested to see what that still unannounced winter book will be. With the creative lead times on these things unless it’s the Dark Sun release that’ll be the first book that’s almost entirely the new design team so a good chance to see where they envision the future going
"An early preview of the book revealed that the book will contain four new playable species - the Dhampir, Hexblood, Lupin, and Reborn species. The dhampir was previously released as a digital-only option in the D&D Beyond "DLC" Asterion's Book of Hungers. This seems to hint that various player options released as "DLC" may still have future in print releases. Also revealed was a new Investigator background option. The book also features Cthulhu as a Darklord, with 385 HP and a spell save DC of 25, hinting at a CR range of around 25."

I think Dark Sun is the pretty safe bet. In addition to the substantial UAs focused on Dark Sun, the product falls in the “Season of Champions.” Considering the Champions of Rajaat are who destroyed the world, and how many of them are now the sorcerer kings of the land, I think that all but confirms Dark Sun is our winter product.

Huh, I wasn't thinking "Champions" could be Dark Sun related but I completely forgot that tie in. Great catch!
I'm excited for all three of these releases for sure.

They could make things even more accessible by taking advantage of the fact that dndbeyond is a digital platform. Players could have the option to buy just the character features that they are interested in rather than the entire book.

Thanks very much for the link to Todd's little video, Lia. The magic items designed to grow along with PCs sound particularly interesting to me. I always loved the taste of that concept that we got in Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and am excited for a fleshed out system to create things like this.
I wonder which subclasses will make it into the Ravenloft book. There were eight in the Horror-themed UA: might they add more? The Oathbreaker Paladin and the Necromancer would fit in for flavour.

Yeah, they did try something related in Fizban's, but that implementation was very impractical.

I wonder if they’ve reworked the Hexblade, I don’t think anyone was particularly impressed by the UA version and it didn’t feel a lot like the front line Gish most people want the Hexblade to be

Honestly, if they have Dark Sun planned for this year I’d think they’d be openly hyping it with this.
