I've recently had a thought of how much fun it would be to play as a Dragon and be with a group of dragons playing a Campaign. I've played the Dragonborn characters before, and it is a lot of fun. I just wondered if there is a campaign, homebrew or otherwise that was created for that option. No where I have looked has anything of that sort. So I am looking to see if anyone knows something about anything along that line. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Hope the new year has started great for everyone.
I saw one years ago for a prior edition. I think it was 3/3.5 when they were current if that will tell you how long ago it was. Maybe you can find it online and update it to 5e?
What you are looking for is the Council of Wyrms setting. Last I remember seeing anything for it was back in 2nd Ed, but it wouldn't surprise me to discover that they made a splat book for it during the 3rd Ed years as well. I didn't see one during 4th Ed and, as far as I am aware, such a setting is not on the 5th ed roadmap at this time.

Tim might be talking about Council of Wyrms, it was for 2nd edition. There are two versions of it available on DMs Guild. The original boxed set and a reprint where it was put into a single hardcover and apparently some Dragon magazine articles were added.
Additionally, in 3rd edition, there were rules for playing monster PCs in Savage Species, but unfortunately not dragons. I thought that there was a dragon class somewhere especially since one of my players had one ages ago, but it must have been homebrewed up.
Both of the above, I think, presume you advance just as a dragon, although I'm not familiar with Council of Wyrms too much.
However, adjacent to 3rd edition, for Pathfinder, Rite Publishing has In the Company of Dragons, which is a solid version of dragon PCs for that edition. It also has the benefit of being a version that is a dragon race and separate class, so PCs can advance as either a dragon or as any regular class (or multiclass to both).
Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything for 5e yet. However, that sounds like an awesome idea! I'm wrapping up my first DMs Guild product now and this is definitely getting me thinking. I might take a stab at homebrewing some ideas in the next couple weeks.
Thank you everyone for all the help!! Much appreciated!! Ill be looking to all of that and see what happens. Might even mix it up a bit :). Again thanks Everyone! Gonna be a great Campaign!
I know this is a relatively late addition to this thread, but there is a third party book by Rite Publishing called "In the Company of Dragons". It doesn't have a lot in the way of adventures, but it does have rules for playing dragon characters in 5e. There is also a version for Pathfinder, so be sure to purchase the correct version!
