Based on the last comment in this thread, I can only hope that it is still active. I wish there was a much easier way for us to find out where all these DDB portraits originated from, and as much as I would like to know all the origins of all the portraits, there's only one right now that I really want to know. I tried to Google Lens and image search this multiple times, and hilariously enough, it keeps giving me pictures of Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed 2. 🤣

Can someone help me too, please? :'))) I really love the character portrait of my character but just can't find the full art or at least a bigger piece of it

Sorry! I have one more I'm desperately trying to find the original of...
Don't want to share his character sheet because he's a boss I'm using in my campaign I'm running, but I love his image so much, I would like the full version of it to share with my players when they encounter him. It's an Eladrin male, or a male elf of some kind, but I don't know which source book the image is from originally.
Apologies again if this post looks weird. I'm still posting via mobile. 🥲
Oooohh! No wonder! He really did look like he might've came from a source book, but now knowing this, I've just got to check these comics out (and the fact that his name is "of Baldur's Gate" is funny because I have a NPC who has that in his name, too)! Damn he looks cool!!
Thank you so much for being my reverse imagining hero for these! Every attempt I make on Google, Bing, and whatever other search engine I use tells me it can't detect it, or gives me unrelated images from the source.
EDIT: Just wanted to add the additional note. I've been trying to find the original source of the portrait for over a year on this one specifically, so... again, thank you! ❤️
Oh boy, I can't believe this was still going so recently... is it possible that someone could help me sort out where the art of this older gnome is from? I went looking through Xanathar's PHB, and SCAG since i had them available but came up empty. No dice on a google image search or tineye. Thank you in advance!

Don't know why i expected to get an email or some other kind of notification about this reply - i just came searching on a whim and i'm glad i did. You are awesome! Thank you!
I was unable to find where this image was published, but I recognize the artist signature. Tomas Giorello. I think this is from an Eberron book though because the face is also a Shifter option on the portrait selection tool.
EDIT: I just learned that WotC reuses a lot of art from old editions too. So this image could be from any edition that Giorello worked on.
that's one of the D&D Beyond portraits they made before they had access to official artwork
I see - so there is no larger / better version that exists. That's OK I will make do, thanks for the information.
Does anyone know who this is?

...my man, that is Prince--or the Artist Formerly Known As Prince--holding a violin.
God, I feel old for knowing that. Is this why doves cry? ^_^
also late, but i got you! it's from the monastic operative in the call of the netherdeep adventure.
Does anyone know where this portrait for ddb came from initially

That is Ellywick Tumblestrum. This particular image of her is from Wild Beyond the Witchlight, but she is also regularly featured on MtG cards.

If anyone could possibly help me find the origins of this image that I'm using on this character sheet, I would greatly appreciate it!
EDIT: I'm on mobile while posting this, so apologies if the format looks wonky.
Found it!
It's part of the art from the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide (SCAG), found in the section on Waterdeep.
Thank you so much! 😊
I can't believe that the full image is actually very fitting for how I had imagined he would dress himself when he isn't hunting.
Can someone help me too, please? :')))

It's from the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, as the concept art for a Volkstrucker Agent.

That's Krydle of Baldur's Gate. I don't recall which adventure (if any) he appears in, but he was in several of the Legends of Baldur's Gate comics.

That's Paloma from The Fiend of Hollow Mine, an adventure from Journeys through the Radiant Citadel.

I'm trying to find this guy. I know I've seen him I just cannot pinpoint it! Glad this is still going!
*Edit: someone on a farming forum uses this image. I don't think he's the source tho 😅
