I’m kind of interested in exploring AiME, but believe there’s a bunch of custom classes and stuff. I was wondering if anyone has tried character creation in D&D Beyond?
DDB has a license with WotC to only support D&D 5e. They won't even be supporting older editions of D&D, just the one that WotC currently supports.
It's one of the reason that some things are not homebrewable, such beyond level 20. These would modify the core game rules rather than things that exist within the rules.
I once did a campaign in middle earth, it went quite badly as I had the same problem as Tolkien in the hobbit, they were accompanied by Gandalf, which was annoying but it was still very fun
Dungeons and Dragons in Middle Earth? Let me think...
I think it's called AD&D 1st Edition.
Gandalf was approximately 8th to 10th Level Magic-user in 1st ed. Really, the Gandalf character was more a spirit than an actual playable race. A perfect recurring NPC that drops in and out of the characters' lives just long enough to cause trouble.
I completely understand the licensing issues but it would be splendid if there was a way to expand into other OGL universes like Aime or Esper Genesis.

It would probably be pretty difficult, as you can't homebrew a whole class.
The new skills can be listed under Custom Skills at least.

Has there ever been any plans to adopt other systems to DDB?
It would be really cool if you could pick a choose other systems, like AIME, and then run that as a campaign.
That way I wouldn't ahve to miss the wonders of DDB when I try other D&D subsystems with my group.

Oh, that is SO sad, :'( I would love to see a site like DDB then, for other D20 systems, like AIME.
Somebody GO MAKE IT :D
Thanks for the answer though @Davedamon
Well it's not a case of just going and making it, it requires licensing. That's what puts DDB in such a strong place, it has the WotC license
