Tasha's Cauldron of Everything will be available on D&D Beyond upon release, but digital pre-orders for the product are not yet available. We will share all pre-order details - including the special D&D Beyond pre-order perks - on all of our social channels as soon as they become available. Thank you!
I suspect Wizards is doing a brief digital embargo to aid sales (and sellers) of the physical book. Game stores, to the degree they are surviving at all, probably appreciate this; digital vendors obviously don't.

Huh...I never thought of that. That is an excellent point. I hope this is the case!

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think that is actually fair. Since digital venders never run out of stock, preordering doesn't really mean that much. Local game stores are struggling, and I think they deserve a boost.

In any case, I was referring to the repeated editing demands by the new book team and Sensitivity Readers.
A Bogus job that should not exist.
Their Job is to find "Problematic" content, they are paid for it, off course they are gonna come up with "Problematic" issues, even if there's none, to justify the existance of their "Job"...
But thats another topic...

Sensitivity readers don't get paid based on how much they find. Regardless of whether or not one thinks the job is necessary, you seem to have a deeply fundamental misunderstanding of how any job works. Do you think doctors go around inventing diseases that don't exist? Making sure there are no problems is just as lucrative as fixing problems that do exist. Talk about conspiracy theories.

That's BS. That's like saying a lawyer is going to invent new laws that you may be breaking because they're getting paid to check if you're breaking any. Also, if that's another topic, don't post it.

I never said that they got paid on the numbers of things they find.
I said that they will find anything to justify the existance of their jobs.

So, you think its absolutely impossible that someone could subconsciously write something that could be offensive to a culture, community, or other group of people? I can't count the amount of times I have accidentally offended someone by saying/typing something that was offensive without realizing it. Sensitivity reading is a real job with a real purpose and is important.
Also, that last remark was uncalled for. You may not have directly stated it, but whenever someone starts bashing sensitivity readers, that is one of the things to be mentioned. I'm sorry if I beat you (or someone else who agrees with you) to your own statement.

Stick to what you know. I work in a few fields and in one we actual do employ consultants who perform tasks equivalent to sensitivity readers. If you're doing it right, they will give you a thumbs up on first pass. Folks who work in more creative industries tell me the process is the same for them. Some just have "editorial" and the process is just integrated.
The fact that editorial teams wishing to engage a diverse market wants to make sure their product will be received positively by the broadest possible market shouldn't trouble anyone, especially someone who has a signature that asserts points of view are disparate, says the spider to the fly.
To bring it back to topic, Tasha's is an effort (and the last Celebration suggests there may be more to follow) to broaden the possibilities of what can be done with Dungeons and Dragons. If you don't like that, those are options and no one's stopping you from staying in your lane but yourself.
There's also the point that there is no evidence for 'sensitivity readers' in the first place. Just ordinary approval people who have that on their check list. While it would be common for a company that had some public PR issues to hire some consultants for cleaning up, there's no particularly strong evidence that any were involved here.
Well the suit alleges they were employed on the Dragonlance front, and Wizards has claimed to use such consultants on reviewing its revisions to Strahd and said they planned to use such consultants going forward (which sort of owns that they have some blindspots on that front with their in house editorial). If you're speculating whether they were used in Tasha's, I wouldn't be surprised if such an editorial pass through was done, but who knows.

I would like to remind everyone to stay on topic, ie talking about Tasha's Hideous Laughter Cauldron of Everything please. Please avoid going off topics, especially into subjects not appropriate for this forum
I'm excited to see what people do with their characters if what I've read about Tasha's is accurate. I know I'll stick with pre-Tasha's rules for my own character creation - at least at first, but there is opportunity here for expanded stories and changing the baseline for a story. If what I've read about Tasha's is accurate, people are officially reminded that they can change things up and it's fine. It's scary to me but also exciting.

Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. I am 99.7603% convinced that the digital dice are messing with me. I roll high when nobody's looking and low when anyone else can see.🎲 “It's a bit early to be thinking about an epitaph. No?” will be my epitaph.

We still don't know the exact rules in Tasha's yet, right? Just the AL stuff?

Nope they don´t know.
But it was said: It will be avaible on the release day. From Page 3:
I hope they have class required feats, like ones that boost class features, that would be awesome.

I certainly don't object to pre-orders being brick & mortar only.
