TL:DR -- Want to know if I can move a character from one campaign I run to another.
I'm about to start up two campaigns. Players can pick between joining on Saturday's game or Sunday's game. But, we may need to reshuffle the players for more even groups.
Is there a way to shuffle the characters once they have been built in one campaign, to the other?
If you leave a shared campaign your character will retain everything he//she gained from that campaign. You will not be able to level up if you don't have access to the subclass and if you remove an item you don't normally have access to, you won't be able to re-add it. If you then join a campaign that has access to that subclass/item, it will return to normal functionality.

Then, if I want to place at rest a Character since I want to go forth in a campaign with a different one, I can simply leave a campaign, start a new character, level it up to the desired level/features, and in the future, repeat this procedure and restore my archived player at the very exact situation I left it?
If this works, it's amazing, but... Don't You see this is a workaround for the limited amount of player characters allowed in a campaign?

It's a work-around that staff is comfortable with. A non-subbed user only gets 6 character slots. If they want to populate those character slots with archived characters, that's fine. :)
Sorry to re-open an old thread, but is there any kind of clarity on this?
I have a character in one campaign, unclaimed and I want to move that character to another campaign. The only options that seem appropriate are "deactivate" and "remove" but I have no idea what either of these will do, so I'm not clicking them in the fear that the character content will be deleted.
Is there a clear step by step to perform in order to make this happen? Thanks!
So I have a charcter not in a Campaign. How do I move it into a Campaign. Please provide step by step. Thanks
Use the "Join Campaign" link the DM provided. If the DM has not provided you a link, ask for one. When you use it, you will be prompted to either select a character from your account to add into the campaign, or to make a new one.
Crap. I created a campaign, which gives me an invite link. I also created some characters. The only option I see for the characters is a Start A New Campaign button. I can not find the Join A Campaign button - I must be blind, please advise?
I'm not subscribed yet, does that matter?
I wanted to test this first with my NPCs before I invite my players...
If I'm the DM in a campaign, can I move a character that I created to a campaign, making it an unassigned character in that campaign?
Yes.
Use the invite link from the campaign. Just paste it into your browser and then you'll see the options to join the campaign with an existing character, or create a new character.
Then unassign the character and a player can claim it.

Yes - you would navigate to the Join URL for the campaign you created, then choose the character you created. Then from the campaign page itself, you can unassign it, so it's there for someone else to claim.
Thanks to both of you for the very prompt reply. I must admit that it was not intuitive to me that I could "join" a campaign that I created myself, but it was easy and it worked fine.

Yes you can. Just leave one campaign from the campaign's page and join the new campaign with the campaign link.

Just press remove.
Then that character just leave that campaign and you can use it in another campaign.
Nothing gets deleted
I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking.
So their system works like an anti magic field.

I must be missing something obvious...
Thanks!
Use the invite link from the campaign.
Just paste it into your browser and then you'll see the options to join the campaign with an existing character, or create a new character.
