Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: VERY new Location/Timezone: EST Availability: A couple nights a week, after 9PM Preferred role: Player Game style: casual or even like really in depth rp it doesn’t matter to me !
Hello! I’m looking for a group to play with! I’m pretty shy so playing online def suits me better. My schedule is working until 9 EST, so playing after shouldn’t be a big deal! Honestly, I’m up for normally anything you throw at me just show me the ropes and I’ll be happy! If you have any questions, feel free to PM or contact me on my discord
I have DM experience if you guys wanna get your feet wet in a starter campaign like Ice Spire Peak or Lost Mines of Phandelver or something. I work most weekdays in PST, but I'm off around 5pm PST so that would slot easily into a 9PM EST play slot. Can do either PbP here, Discord, Roll20, or even Fantasy Grounds cuz I've got all of that up and running (if lacking in the content department since DDB isn't really connected with the other two platforms). Can even do a mix of all three, depends if you want voice chat or not...basically I'm a DM/Player who has experience that has finally got my DDB back (lost access to my email for a while there...like a year.....) who wants to get back into the swing of things. If you are interested.
I mean that depends? Like preferred days to play, preferred format, that type of thing are important? Running PbP is different from running Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds, or even from running a game through Discord. Chat vs text is also important to determine, and then which campaign you want to have run is needed. After that creating characters if help is needed and ensuring that there is more than a party of 1 to play....so starting depends on those factors. Basically:
Where do you want the game to happen? PbP, Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, Discord What format do you want? Text, Chat, Mix? What Campaign interests you? Starter (Phandelver, Ice Spire Peak) or something more complex? Do you need help making a character? Yes or no, determines if we need a session 0 Do you have a party? How many people are playing can change the difficulty, definitely needs to be more than one or two though. When? Time of the week, time of the day -- this affects format, frequency, and location.
Hi! I'm not new to D&D, but I don't have a lot of experience. I'm still pretty slow with game mechanics and occasionally need help. I would love to join this game for the experience, as a confidence builder for joining more advanced games in the future. I also live in PST (Seattle), and I'll be home by 5, so the timing works well for me.
Where do you want the game to happen? I would prefer not to do PbP - the pace would be too slow. I'm agnostic to platform as long as I can get the features I need for free. What format do you want? I would say chat. I can't type fast enough to get all my thoughts out :-) What Campaign interests you? I'd be most comfortable with a starter campaign, or something else pretty basic. I've played Phandelver, so I'd be happier with something different. Do you need help making a character? No, I can create my own character. I just need to know what level and if you have any restrictions. Do you have a party? I'm just volunteering myself. When? 5-6pm PST would work well for me. I'm usually worthless after around 8, so sessions that go on well into the night won't work for me. I'd be up for once a week.
Hello There! I am just getting back into playing after 10 years. I have purchased the 5E Essentials Kit and have familiarized myself with the rules and the game again. Would love to join in and play with you guys! Thanks! I have open availability too!
Hello I'm look to play my first game. My preferred time would be after 6pm or 7pm PST Mon-Fri, I can do weekly or even twice a week. I have a few characters ready. if there are any restrictions or more information .

I'm available to start whenever.

If the rest of you replying are of the same opinion as above, I'll be happy to paraphrase my own availability and suggested tidbits.
Not PbP but platform agnostic -- I'd recommend then playing through either discord with a discord bot, or a combination of discord and roll20. Roll20 is free for all to use, just create an account. If your DM has a pro/plus plan that's even better because it adds a lot of cool shit like dynamic lighting and advanced fog of war. Roll20 is decent for map usage/audio backtracks. It's token system and dice mechanics and built in API with character sheets are not always the greatest -- the macros can get intensive and cause some issues. The audio/webcam feature of Roll20 has improved over the years, but it's still got some bugs in it. Discord is much better for webcam/voice chat aspects, and discord bots can make integration with DDB pretty easy.
Another great platform if you don't mind buying the license (you can purchase directly from the company themselves, or through Steam) is Fantasy Grounds. You can technically play it free as long as at least one of you has an Ultimate License versus their standard License. Typically that person would be DM. (I only have a standard license myself).
Campaign -- If you want to do something simple as a starter like Phandelver than the Essentials Kit Dragon of Ice Spire Peak and the following adventures are a good jumping off point, that can then morph into much later adventure tracks depending upon party choices.
Character Creation -- For me, as a DM, I'm very free on character creation. My only suggestion tends to be roll for stats instead of using standard array or point buy just because you can get some interesting numbers through random dice rolls. Further information can be discussed if you wish to play with me.
Availability -- I work full time in a vet clinic, and I'm on Surgery for at least three out of five days this month, and then down to one out of five days starting in March I believe. To this end I'm typically not free until after 5 or 6pm PST. I have variable day off on Saturday or Monday typically, which means my only actual day off is Sunday. To that end I prefer running games on Friday evenings after work if I don't work Saturday, or on Saturday evenings, or Sunday evenings if I'm not working Monday. I have this Monday off and I'm working this upcoming Saturday and after that I don't have my schedule yet although typically I have a schedule for four weeks out.
HMU on discord. I'm twinkats#8335 and while I'm generally on do not disturb due to being part of large groups that are constantly talking, I usually check in at least once a day.
