I agree with the comment about wifi and cell service, but "the hire more people" implies "and I am willing for my prices to go up markedly to cover the cost of this." Is that what you intended?
I missed that comment MikeB64, is your question directed at me or someone else? Re-reading my comments on the thread I did say DDB will have devoted a team to work on the phone app, but I never suggested they'd hired new staff members.
The foundation of these complaints come from the assumption that the people working on a mobile port *would* be working on other requested website improvements if it weren't for the mobile app. Nothing to do with price hikes.
On a logistical level, companies generally hire more people when they have more consistent income. It rarely has a direct correlation with the 'price per person' that you fear a hike in. If they were to hire a new ramt/group of staff, it'd probably be because the number of people subscribing to DDB had risen and projections show they're here to stay.
Hope my comment made sense, I'm writing from my phone so no proof reading I'm afraid :P
It was in response to Omega Primer saying if they cannot keep up, hire more people. I agree with your statement about companies hiring more people. My comment was that if the growth in staff is not organic as you describe, the only other was to increase the income is to increase the price.
Like many, I'm also itching for the character sheets to get in the mobile app. That being said, I love having a copy of my books on my phone in a searchable format. It's fantastic for DMing a game and having a quick way to look up monsters for an impromptu encounter, or as a player if I level up during a session and want my class and spells I can choose from in front of me at the same time.

I use summon instrument to summon my kettle drum, hold it overhead like Donkey Kong, and chuck it at the nearest kobold.

Did you try the web version of everything? Because it can do all that. Do you also miss a stable internet connection were you play? I find the web version much more useful for the cases you stated. You can open multiple monsters, chapters, spells and maps, etc in multiple tabs and quickly switch between them. This is why I did not switch to the app version when it came out, as the web version is much more useful to me.
Internet and cell phone service aren't available everywhere. You don't even have to be that remote to run into a no Internet situation. I live in the DC suburbs and one of the places I play at doesn't have Wi-Fi access and cellular data coverage is spotty. Besides, I prefer using my tablet that doesn't have cellular data support anyway.
I agree that the web app version is great when you have Internet. However, there are a lot of places where Internet access isn't guaranteed.

I mean, have you tried to play a friend's basement? Or a basement room of a pub? Forget cellular, and wifi is limited if available at all... :) So yes, internet connection is not always given.

All my friends have Wifi everywhere. I never played in a pub, no.

Well I play at comic shop and they don't have wifi and I get super bad cell service, so I would love the idea
While I like using the site on my computer and on my phone, I would love to have character sheets and home brew content on the app and not have to be connected to internet. One place I play doesn’t have WiFi and I have limited data (unlimited they say but gets really throttled) and would love to be able to use all of the features when I’m at that shop.

This is a living document, and as these concepts are refined, this book will also be updated for free; so you will be kept up to date with any changes that are made to it. Due to this, the content is not available in the D&D Beyond reader mobile app until a later date.
My apologies if this is a repeated question: I couldn't find any mentions of this in the thread via search (though admittedly my Google-Fu is not strong) so I am posting it myself.
I love the Mobile Alpha app. The ability to access all of the features of the DnD Beyond system from my phone has been great.
The issue I have is no matter where in the app I am if I hit the back button on my phone (Android, LG G6, fully updated, stock ROM, not unlocked) it closes to the home screen. Then when I open the app again, I'm back at the start page of the app. It doesn't matter whether I click the icon on the home screen or if I use the app switcher to go back to it.
Is this something that is being worked on? Is there perhaps an update to the app I'm missing that fixes this? Are others experiencing this issue? How many pecks of pickled peppers did Peter Piper pick?
Thank you for your time.
I realize my mistake now and I now only wonder if DDB is still giving invites to alpha access.
I'm late to the show because I wasn't using DDB after the Beta. I am back on nowl Are we still able to participate in the Alpha (or Beta if you are that far along)?

You can download the app and try it at any time.
The app is in the Apple/Google Play store. It is missing some things like access to the character sheet at the moment, but it is there.
I've noticed that there's a few bits missing: Totem animals for Barbarian for example aren't listed. The class pages only mention the archetype feature as 'You can pick a new animal blah blah' but don't say what those animals actually are or what they do.
Can we get some updates regarding implementing new functionality to the mobile app? It seems like there was no progress these past few months (soon to be years).
Keeping the app on phones / tablets right now, for me is a wasted memory space. Should I abandon all hope and get used to using the mobile version of the site?

I'm pretty sure the storage amount of the app depends on how many sources you have downloaded into it, otherwise it should be a relatively small app. If you're having memory space issues, maybe remove sources you don't use, or don't use often enough.
That seems more of an issue with your phone than an issue with the app as they have stated they're working on it. They are currently in the process of integrating offline character sheets onto the mobile app, as stated on their official roadmap

I don't see the new Eberron book in the mobile app. Any idea when it gets implemented?

I am also wondering about this.
