and I can't really see the backdrops anyway without a bit of browser magic to view just that image
Tell me more of this browser magic.
Depends on the browser, but usually if you open the developer tools, switch to the Network tab, then reload the page, the background image will be on the list and you can see it. I still haven't found a way to make it actually visible while also have the character sheet usable and visible as well.
I’m getting really tired of perks from pre-ordering and buying books being applied to subscriptions. It just prevents me from pre-ordering in the future, as I know I’ll likely be gifted them anyway. It also makes them feel less unique, so I won’t bother to buy digital dice. It’s nice to have rare items, but they become less rare when just tossed out nilly-willy.
It definitely doesn't prevent you from pre-ordering in the future. If you pre-order to get early access to these backdrops and frames and digital dice. If you're subscriber, you get some from a grab bag. Not sure how other subscribers getting these items hurts you in any way enough for you to complain about it.
Love the addition of this to the subscriptions. Are the backgrounds available right after the subscription starts? My friend and I subbed a few days ago and still don't have access to any of them. Does it take a while before they are awarded?

According to the original post, the automated scripts go off every Monday and Friday; if you don't get them by end of today you might have to wait until Friday.

I have to say while I love DDB and the service they provide, I am a bit annoyed at the idea of being rewarded as a subscriber with most of the rewards being things that I already had been "rewarded" with as a pre-order bonus. I'm not against the idea of giving people a route to accessing pre-order bonus content after it is released but it's hard to celebrate a getting the same reward twice or feel like it was much of a reward at all.

on the other hand, what other rewards would they give? Purchasable content or discounts? I have bought all the content I wanted. (I'm not paying for dice). Or would you they start developing stuff just for the subscribers, taking away resources from people who are supposed to implement things like, I don't know, a light theme for the app so people like me who can't stare at that dark black thing for more than a minute or two without our eyes slowly and painfully dripping out of our head?
Subscribers get unlimited character slots; master subscribers also get the content sharing option. Anything else on top of that is fine by me as long as it doesn't take resources from actually focusing on actual things the devs should actually look at.

What time does the website run by? The Dev Update works by Pacific Time (PST/PDT), or at least it used to when Adam ran it, and the offices run by CDT but what does the website work off of? Specifically I mean for the release of products, like, for instance, the subscriber perks. When does the clock tick over to June 1st?

You can zoom out to see more of the image.

That is probably one way, albeit you still won't see the full image. And, of course, the character sheet itself is also unusable that way.

I was able to edit character sheets of my players, so I'm pretty sure they will be shared just like my compendiums.
I cant wait to see what cool dice options they come up with!

Sitting on June 5th waiting for the clock to tick over to June 1st.
Maybe they decided not to do these anymore since so many people were complaining that other people got new stuff.

I would guess there'll be an update on the Dev Twitch this week? Possibly? Hopefully?
As per the first post:
"A new gift will be released on the first Monday of each month and automatically gifted to your account."
So we should be getting the new sub perks this week.
Did anyone get anything today?
